there is nothing mind-blowing about the Wire, the gray area of police and criminals has been a subject in entertainment since forever. The Wire is the TV equivalent of watching two hood niggers in a park play chess.
It's not the first show to explore those topics, you're right. I didn't call it mind-blowing. The show is about a dying city and shows how it's dying from a number of different angles, all of them captured in a pretty realistic and nuanced way. I don't think a lot of shows have done the same. It's not perfect but I think it's better than you say it is.

We'll have to agree to disagree, brotherman. I did think the miniseries "the corner" was really well done

Diaz saying he'd eat the Italian broads shit then getting slapped around by Dickie before randomly getting his head blown off was also very original show-like. If it was just a separate standalone movie, it's better than the vast majority of shit that's put out nowadays. But because it's part of the Sopranos it has a huge amount of pressure to deliver that it never would have as that show was lightning in a bottle.

Exactly this. If this wasn't part of the Sopranos it would be graded way better. As far as Mafia movies go, it fucking kills The Irishman. That fucking STUNK.

This movie made me laugh (and cry) in all the right places.

I know David Simon is a monumental fucking faggot but I still think The Wire was a masterpiece. It's not perfect but I think it's more than an entertaining crime show. I consider Law and Order to be an entertaining crime show. Cops good criminals bad. It's hammy and formulaic and retarded but it's entertaining.
The Wire literally gets every single aspect of society wrong. No mentions of Jews whatsoever. No mention of Israel or AIPAC controlling all ends of the political debate in the public and media. No mention of nearly every police force sending trainees to Israel. No mention of Jews and 9/11. It tries as hard as it can to excuse feral Bantu niggers of their crimes and blame it on the 'war on drugs'. As if waging war on drug cartels, nigger gangbangers, and fentanyl pushers is immoral. Boardwalk Empire showed that the loser scum that ran bootlegging immediately began running other illegal activities and corrupting politics the second booze was legalized again. Destroying society with legalized casinos and political lobbying. There was no apologizing for the mafia. Same with The Sopranos.

Jews? Freemasons? Apparently these do not exist in The Wire. Just focus on fake serial killers goyim.

And in the fifth season it makes people in the media out to look like geniuses and saints with one or two bad apples spoiling the bunch. When in reality everyone in the media worked as hard as they could to promote the Iraq War and WMDs in 2003. Because Jews told them to. No mention of that. HBO still to this day is making 9/11 documentaries with no mention of Israel. Pushing movies about SEALs killing Bin Laden and so on. The media is basically nothing more than a propaganda arm for Jews at this point.

The Wire humanizes both cops and drug dealers. You end up loving and hating people on either side of the war. And while the show is a critique of the war on drugs, they also legalize drugs in one season, and things just get worse. The Wire dissects and portrays very realistically while also admitting there's no real cut and dry solution to it.
The Wire does nothing of the sort. It simply turns nigger animals and drug dealers and cops into mouthpieces for liberal communist ideas. Drug dealers are quoting Greek mythology and F Scott Fitzgerald. No cops are racist. All cops are completely okay with fags and dykes being on the force and women working arrest warrants against violent criminals. Cops are secret fags. Drug dealers are open fags. It is a liberal fantasist utopia.

The cut and dry solution is to send all blacks to Africa or burn them all. Same with Jews.
One thing I will knock it for is that it is definitely a slow burn. The pilot doesn't grab you like other shows. But once it hooks you it hooks you.

I think Breaking Bad is way more overrated. It's a great show with a great pilot episode but there's a cheapness to it that always kept it from joining that top tier to me.
McNulty breaking bad and faking a serial killer was ten times more retarded than Walter White becoming a drug dealer. Walter White was dying of cancer and tried as hard as he could to separate himself from his crimes by initially making Jesse and Badger do all the distribution while he cooked. McNulty is literally working all angles of his fake serial killer case like maniac. Faking murders, faking evidence from previous cases, fake phone calls with a voice modulator, giving false statement to the press, kidnapping a homeless person, and so on. Breaking Bad was a silly show but it was meant to be stupid and over the top and comical. Walter was literally pitched in the pilot as Mr Rogers turns into Scarface. It is meant to be juvenile.

Breaking Bad is cheap because it is plot driven. Once you know the plot twists the show loses its fun. And it gets worse each viewing. Something character driven like Sopranos is great because of the depth and how many times you need to rewatch it to make all of the connections. Breaking Bad just moves from explosion to gunfight and then once the surprise is done each subsequent viewing is not as good.

It's true. It was objectively way better than The Irishman. It was shit compared to The Sopranos, but then almost everything is. But, duration aside, I finished MSON in one sitting. It took me like 3 nights to finish the Irishman. And not because it was long.

Yeah, (sigh) it's a tough one man. On the one hand, David Simon seems to be a complete fag on social media. On the other, he made The Deuce, which doesn't exactly paint blacks (pimps) and Jewish (pornograhers) men, or women (prostututes) in a good light. Italian men (criminal scum) and homosexuals (senseless hedonists) don't exactly come out of it smelling like roses either. Great show. And Gandolfini's kid was decent in it too.

Why is every-fucking-thing green?
Movie theory update to this.

I thought it was weird how they leaned heavily on the green tint. You could see also a fair amount of orange in scenes too. I'm sure everyone knows about the cliche of orange and teal contrasting colors in modern movies. Many Saints was more of a watery green tint but it was definitely there. At the time I figured it's because they wanted it to somehow appear old maybe.

I just started watching the new Foundation series and it also has two things in common with Many Saints. It also has a heavy color tint with the orange and teal. I'm ten minutes into episode two and everything is orange and teal. The second thing is it also has a very ethnic cast. Of course by that I mean there's been one asian and one indian in roles that lasted a matter of seconds on screen, every bad guy character is white, and the smart, good, kindly or mystic characters are almost all black.

Are they changing the color composition of movies and television shows to make them more visually appealing when they have a lot of black cast members?
