I disagree. It's circumstantial evidence at best. Just because he has a Gemini account doesn't mean he was using it to send crypto to the rent-a-SWAT guy. I'm not disputing the fact that he has a Gemini account, but rather that just having said account doesn't necessarily link him to the swattings.

What we have:
- Rent-A-SWAT says someone using the name "Patrick Tomlinson" requested the swatting, claiming to be using them to sue MPD
- Rent-A-SWAT vaguely suggests that the account that messaged him had his phone number on the profile (this could have been manually entered in a bio making it appear as such, or perhaps it was the number actually tied to the account but unconfirmed)
- Patrick has a Gemini account
- Patrick possibly nuking his phone intentionally

What we need:
- Bank records that show withdrawals similar to the price of the Rent-A-SWAT consistent with the timeline of the swattings, OR;
- Proof that the Telegram account belonged to him

Also keep in mind that the swatter might be trying to grift this place out of money. Fake premise that the swattings were called in by Pat so he can get someone here to pay money for audio recordings of other swattings and other "evidence."

All that being said, I really really really want to be wrong. Just prefer not to be a Seth Simons, knowwhatimean?

He denied he has the account. Why would he do so if there's an innocent explanation for it?

I think he probably did it but I voted no. We may be experiencing some large scale confirmation bias similar to how Space Edge fooled Seth Simons into writing that article by telling him exactly what he wanted to hear.

If something is illegal then paying someone to do the illegal thing is also illegal. They don’t need a specific law for each illegal thing.

And even if there wasn’t a specific SWATTing law they could cook something up like attempted murder (of Niki), wasting gov’t resources, false reports, fraud, etc.

True but I'm curious how they'd calculate what prison sentence he'd get given it's such an unprecedented thing. Not only is there a crazy amount of swats that occurred but he was paying for them to be done to himself ffs.

The Telegram account is linked to his phone number. You can't just make a Telegram account with another number or an email address. That's another for the "Have" column.

That tweet where Pat says that his stlakers are impersonating him to swat him sounds so unbelievable on it's face. Even Pats followers must be thinking, "Sounds far fetched."

As usual, Pat is too retarded to come up with a believable cover story and actually ends up removing all doubt that he's guilty with his ridiculous denials. Think about how retarded it is to commit a crime as a double false flag, so that you're actually implicating yourself publicly in the crime that you're commiting.

This person would have only been implicating Pat in his private conversations with the cybercriminal, who was some unknown dark web actor until the Vice article came out. For this scheme to work, they would have had to know that an article would be published about Torswats at some point.

Even then, there's no guarantee that Torswats would have actually outed him as a client according to plan. It's possible he would have just cut his losses after being stiffed and moved on.

The plausible denial would have been to say "this Torswats guy is lying to get the trolls riled up, and maybe he's one of them". That's what some of us were wondering, and that would give him the motive to do the swattings and to accuse Pat. Simple.
