Pat's info being in the Gemini Dec 2022 data breach is the smoking gun. 2FA and KYC means its impossible for anyone but Pat to have created that account. The fact he fully denies it being his and claims a "cyberstlaker created it to frame me" makes it clear he is a retard and did it himself.

I think he probably did it but I voted no. We may be experiencing some large scale confirmation bias similar to how Space Edge fooled Seth Simons into writing that article by telling him exactly what he wanted to hear.

What if this is a reverse Apostlegate where someone who wants to take down the PFG forums fooled a vice journalist into writing a fake article and we are the Patricks in this situation who are believing all the fake info given to them by an anonymous mole?

Also @captain_kamala can you please recommend me some meds for schizophrenia?

I disagree. It's circumstantial evidence at best. Just because he has a Gemini account doesn't mean he was using it to send crypto to the rent-a-SWAT guy. I'm not disputing the fact that he has a Gemini account, but rather that just having said account doesn't necessarily link him to the swattings.

What we have:
- Rent-A-SWAT says someone using the name "Patrick Tomlinson" requested the swatting, claiming to be using them to sue MPD
- Rent-A-SWAT vaguely suggests that the account that messaged him had his phone number on the profile (this could have been manually entered in a bio making it appear as such, or perhaps it was the number actually tied to the account but unconfirmed)
- Patrick has a Gemini account
- Patrick possibly nuking his phone intentionally

What we need:
- Bank records that show withdrawals similar to the price of the Rent-A-SWAT consistent with the timeline of the swattings, OR;
- Proof that the Telegram account belonged to him

Also keep in mind that the swatter might be trying to grift this place out of money. Fake premise that the swattings were called in by Pat so he can get someone here to pay money for audio recordings of other swattings and other "evidence."

All that being said, I really really really want to be wrong. Just prefer not to be a Seth Simons, knowwhatimean?

The fact that he isn't pissing his pants and loudly proclaiming that an imposter registered and verified an account on a crypto exchange, then used it to commit serious felonies in order to frame him, and you have immediately retained legal counsel and will be getting to the bottom of what happened, and suing the fuck out of Gemini and Coinbase, is quite telling.

Here's my reverse argument for why this is legit (maybe I'm just a retard):

"pay-for-swats"/"pay-for-bomb-threats" are not a new enterprise and have been done many times by many people in the blackhat world.

-The article was written for motherboard (as much as I hate Vice, Motherboard is big-boy league, not as easy to fool as a Cracked.com writer or the local news)

-Article was published on the 13th, no one posted it here when it was. The people who noticed it the day after were probably techfaggot brothermen who saw it when it got posted to Hacker News and got upvoted pretty high on Friday.

-As much as I hate/love Pat, he really is minor in the schema of the internet, and even of people being SWATTTTTTed in the past year(s).

MTG (republican politician), iShowSpeed (annoying nigger youtuber/streamer with 10s of millions of subs who has become insanely popular with Zoomers recently), and Tim Pool are all far more well known (and well hated) people who have been SWATTTTed via the same modus operandi over the past year.

People with little/no connection to our small corner of the internet, all of whom a "this person paid to SWATTTTT themselves" would be a pretty significant accusation that would get traction on a wide scale immediately. Pat is pretty much an internet nobody on the grand scale.

-Most brothermen are boomia-tier with regards to technology. Crypto, PGP signing, running true darknet-tier OPSEC, too far above the paygrade. A brotherman who had the web development skills to program a site didn't have the OPSEC sense to not log into a "private life" account on a personal phone (to hilarious results).

Maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see, but I think this is the real deal.

It started immediately after being informed of his debtors exam (but before anyone here knew). He asked torswats for $500 worth of swats (they do bundle discounts), just hammer our home, we are desperate for that mpd lawsuit and media attention.

He only has $250 in his account, so he pays half and the rest after he does another bank transfer. He sets up the transfer, Vice article comes out, feds flag their Monero wallet, anyone on an exchange who has ever sent to that wallet is banned. Pat says Welp, guess that's the end of that. Torswats doesn't like that and doxxes him.

This is not remotely unusual. After Kiwi farms started getting negative press, Coinbase and other exchanges banned anyone who ever donated to them. I was banned from Coinbase for buying kratom.
