Of course one glance at the team defense statistics for the 2023-2024 season sorted by rush yards per game shows that SF has the 3rd best run defense in the league. (Crude measurement in these analytics-heavy days, but still.)

Of course Pat's talking to someone who's entire premise is bullshit. SF simply doesn't have "poor run defense numbers" that might be hiding a better run defense if you use the right analytics. It has a good run D even by the easiest way of calculating such a thing.
