I actually considered going to VCU as my first choice while in high school. Glad I didn't make that mistake, although I'm sure there was plenty of slutty art hoe pussy I missed out on.
it was pretty good, but I came to discover that normal women had better attitudes and better grooming

Not sure if it's punk or post-punk, but The Monorchid were one of my favorites:

I enjoy the music, but I hate the whole image of the scene. I can't stand the faux edgy asthetic and forced politics of it all. It all feels so fake. Me and my wife both still go to tons of concerts and one thing we always notice is how slimey the vibe of punk and pop-punk shows are. Every one of these shows I go to a good majority of the crowd are a bunch of people i their twenties to early thirites who you can tell are just low lifes who it's obvious don't have normal jobs they have to get up and go to in the morning getting hammered. It's actually pretty fucking sad.

And then there is the whole political aspect of it. If you hold any sort view that leans right in the slightest you'll be ostricized instantly. Not only is it all about endorssing the Hillary Clintons and Joe BIdens, but they also really focus on pushing the gay and trans agenda now along with BLM shit. I remember seeing Refused shortly before covid shut everything down and they had a band called Racetraitor (you can guess whre this is going). They were fucking terrible and the vocalist was so bad you couldn't understand anything he was saying and then during every song he would go on rants about how ashamed he was of being white and how we needed to vote for Bernie Sanders. He even came on stage wearing this arab scarf or some shit on his head so he could talk about muslims too. It's the only time I've seen someone try and bottle a band after their set and yell at them and this was the same crowd that cheered when the lead singer of the headlining act said he was a socialist. I've seen some shitty bands live, but they take the cake for the worst.
