I think if the Opster and the Worm would have joined Nana in 2014, they would have made a lot of money. Look how much money retards like Kevin Brennen get for superchats. Podcasts were not that big back then. They would still have got guests, well atleast the comedians. Nana still had some good guests until he got arrested I think.

Cumia claimed in 2014 he had 40,000 subscribers, if Jimmy and Opie were involved as well and there was no big public fall out then safe to say you could add another 20,000 - 40,000 subscribers to the number. I don't recall how lucrative YouTube was in 2014 but with a proper social media person doing their YouTube O&A could've been making millions a year from YouTube alone.

Don’t forget Stern around the early 2010s put his foot down on his staff doing weekend gigs because Marci Turk convinced him it was a bad look for his “brand” when his staff pretty much had to do weekend gigs to supplement their income for years. That shows you Stern is a huge piece of shit - he claimed it would make people think he’s part of small bar gigs when nobody who would go see Richard & Sal or Ronnie Mund’s Block Party think Howard Stern is involved or would be showing up.

Oddly enough I actually see both sides of this one.

From one side it is a bad look that these national radio stars were doing bar gigs in front of 100 people when their boss has a net worth of over half a billion dollars, owns multiple mansions, travels around in a limo exclusively etc. Those venues also used the Howard Stern name to attract an audience but Howard or the show itself never got anything from it except the entertaining on air content.

Alternatively though for the workers it is heavily rumoured that they are all incredibly underpaid. Howard would not allow them to do merchandise so what else are they meant to do to make extra income?

What's even worse about Stern is that his staff isn't paid out of the $100 million that Stern gets (now around $80 million) per year. They are all Sirius employees (not Stern employees) and when there was a layoff (when Lisa G. and the Howard News team went away) the stingy Howie kept his $80 million per year and didn't part with one nickle to let those people keep their jobs. Same thing with Howard TV on-demand/in-demand/whatever-demand.

What kind of piece of shit person gets paid $80 million per year and still lets most of his staff get laid off? Howard Fucking Stern is who.

Anthony really is the unluckiest guy in the O&A universe. In 2024 he leaves NYC permanently to relocate to SC where he clearly doesn't want to be and closes down Compound Media. 6 months later Jimmy becomes available and is out of Sirius and available to be hired, Jimmy of course being the only other guy apart from Opie that could've breathed some life into the rotting carcass that was Compound Media and I guess created the closest thing to O&A that you could in the year 2025.

Plus he had no problem with Gary doing weekend gigs for years -same with KC and various wack packers. Gary did pretty much anything that would pay him - car dealerships, store openings, grocery stores, etc and at least it lead to material for the show to goof on Gary. Stern made it clear he was not apart of the shows and the gigs didn’t promote it like he would be there. Pretty messed up he decided nobody could do weekend gigs, it’s not like they were taking money from him and it would become material for the air.

Is this public info? Can a shareholder look any of this up? I was always under the impression that Sirius gave Howard a lump sum which included stock in the company and Howard was responsible for allocating the funds as needed to create his shows. Originally he had 3 channels, first cut was the 3rd channel. He also had the video department and news, that was cut. Every time Stern gets a new contract he cuts expenses.

I think he originally thought Sirius would be much bigger than it turned out to be, leading up to the merger he spent his budget to be competitive, once they took over XM his goals switched to just keeping all the money he could. The show is declining pretty fast and the stock never took off so if I was trying to guess, I would guess that stern has much less than you think. I also think his net worth is tied more to the stock price than his salary.

When Club Soda got in trouble and was afraid he'd lose his pension, Dice told him "fuck your pension, book 350 gigs right now and make twice that next year" nana should have taken that advice but he wanted to be the coddled talent on a radio show and he let other clean him out. Gotta remember Gary had to do A LOT of outside work while on the show - store openings, car dealerships, etc. and was still doing it even in the early 2000s. I remember he said those awful gigs which sometimes would have next to zero people show up for was how he paid for his house.

He had a wife who was out of his league, she insisted on living in Greenwich CT in a house that only a realtor would tell you was affordable on his salary. He had no choice but to work more if he wanted to maintain his wife's lifestyle. Howard would never write a check to help him and he never seemed that happy to see Gary making extra money. Howard let his best buddy die because he couldn't afford health insurance and ralph knew better than to ask for help.
