Did Norton leave Jim and Sam?

Anthony really is the unluckiest guy in the O&A universe. In 2024 he leaves NYC permanently to relocate to SC where he clearly doesn't want to be and closes down Compound Media. 6 months later Jimmy becomes available and is out of Sirius and available to be hired, Jimmy of course being the only other guy apart from Opie that could've breathed some life into the rotting carcass that was Compound Media and I guess created the closest thing to O&A that you could in the year 2025.

Unlucky Nana.

I think if the Opster and the Worm would have joined Nana in 2014, they would have made a lot of money. Look how much money retards like Kevin Brennen get for superchats. Podcasts were not that big back then. They would still have got guests, well atleast the comedians. Nana still had some good guests until he got arrested I think.

Sirius pays Norton likely close to $200K per year. But the real benefits are that they pay for his studio, employees, engineers, and everyone else to make the show. If he does a podcast he'll be losing the office staff aside from maybe one or two engineers or assistants. Even if he signs with some podcasting service they won't hire an entire back office of workers to make Jim coffee and egg whites with mustard.
We are the world, we are the children we are the ones who give a better place for Jim Norton.

Jimmy is doomed. He's going all-in with his "henpecked married fella" bit, but it will fail. Watching those two interacting is like listening to a screaming baby on a long flight. He's a California Raisin with AIDS and Nikki just becomes manlier and manlier the longer you watch. No one does or ever will give a shit about them or their unholy union as anything more than a retarded novelty.

I guarantee you that he promised her they’d get some kind of reality show or something along those lines. But he’s 10 years behind trans being a novel concept in pop culture, a terrible actor, and if you strip the tranny aspect of it… well he’s in his 50’s and imported a 19 year old cam whore which is just fucking creepy.

My wife and I were just talking about this last night (that's they type of thing I do on NYE)

Basically:

There seems to be two generations of trannies. The "old" trannies are fetishists. These are the 45 and 55yo ghouls that hang out in bars and nightclubs, making everyone else uncomfortable. I think it's a sadomasochism fetish for them; they like making regular people squirm, but they also get off on the humiliation.

The "young" trannies have basically been MK-ULTRA'd with porn/anime/videogames/Marxism etc.

Jim isn't trans (yet) but he is OBVIOUSLY in the first category. It's why he brings tranny prostitutes onto the XM show, and why he brought them on his Vice show. His "Monster Rain" bit is obviously masochistic; he gets off on shame. But he's a sadist too, which is why he gets off on cramming the tranny stuff into every show.

The thing that Norton can't comprehend, is that the media only cares about the 2nd generation of trannies. You don't see them promoting Caitlyn Jenner any longer, and the star of "TRANSparent" got metoo'd a long time ago. Despite 30+ years of work in Hollywood.

The funniest thing about him getting metoo'd, is that it was HIS idea to have trannies work on the show. And then he learned that trannies are mentally ill, when one of them accused him of sexually harassing them. That's how he got blacklisted.

They don't have chemistry. He has on-air chemistry with Anthony and that's basically it. He's a spoiled rich cunt who is used to "I paid you now fuck me" relationships. Nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to watch a podcast about a John impatiently yelling at his trans hooker/wife.

I would 100% watch a reality show where The Viking just shits on Norton endlessly and reveals all of the things that Norton has done in private.

But it would be interesting for about two episodes, tops.

Also: podcasts are dying.

Carolla used to play theaters. These days, the only gigs he's doing are at Jimmy Kimmel's tiny little comedy club over by the Linq in Vegas. It's obvious that Kimmel is just throwing him a bone, and the reviews from the Vegas subreddit are that Carolla shows up, doesn't even tell any jokes, and basically expects people to show up because he's a celebrity.

Rogan once told the story of how he saw Dice in Vegas. I saw Dice in Vegas too; it was at a comedy club in the corner of a casino. The 'club' looked like a broom closet. It didn't have a bar; a waitress from the floor of the casino came in to take people's orders. It was big enough to hold about 30 people. Dice used to live here, he had a house about ten minutes away. So it was basically zero effort for him to show up. The "club" had food, if you consider "a wire shelf with bags of potato chips on it" to be "food." It was so ridiculous looking; it looked like they'd just taken a shelf and some snacks out of the hotel pantry and put them in the corner of the room.

THAT was the "epic Dice show" that Rogan was going on and on about on his podcast. "Theater of the Mind" and all that.

Dice got the memo and pivoted to acting, I saw him about a year before he was doing that HBO show.

It's also in his contract that his agent's fee of 10% was paid separately by Sirius, that his limo and airfare and hotels are paid for by Sirius for all vacations, and he gets other compensation like his cable and internet and so on.

It's hilarious how badly corporations can fuck themselves on these contracts:

There's a new doc about Lollapalooza on Paramount+

One of the anecdotes, was that Metallica contributed to the demise of the touring version of Lollapalooza.

Basically, Metallica had a stipulation that they wouldn't play indoors. It seemed like a nothingburger at the time, but ended up costing them boatloads of money. Because all of the crap that you see at a venue with a roof (walls to keep people from crashing the gate, bathrooms, protection from the elements, a food court, A STAFF TO MANAGE THE VENUE...) had to be taken care of, in advance, by Lollapalooza.

This blew up their budget.

If it wasn't for that one dumb clause, we might still have touring festivals like Ozzfest/Lollapalooz/Lilith Fair/etc.

Warped Tour managed to hang on the longest, by paying the artists peanuts, but even they folded eventually.

That will probably happen after, when Nikki really needs the money. By that point, however, few will even remember who Jim Norton was, so it's tough to imagine who the audience for those stories would be.

One of my favorite "metrics of success" is "does a video of white noise get more views?"

And as you'd expect, there are TONS of Jim and Sam videos on YT that are so unmemorable, they get something like 5% as many hits as "white noise."

1) The two most popular videos of white noise on YT, they have 264M and 65M views, respectively https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=white+noise

2) The most popular video from Jim and The Viking has 0.121M views:

Yeah, Nikki will do some shitty "confessional therapy" podcast to talk about it, and the hosts will be like "So you used to be married to Jim Rundgren, tell us what that was like."

I'm glad they didn't because I would have 100 percent signed up and given them money. Slowly starting to hate them all and not monetarily supporting any of them has been more entertaining

This is some thumbnail, Nikki setting off uncanny valley, Jim looking like Mickey Rooney and Nana looking like a burn victim. I can't imagine why the video isn't more popular

I thought Sterns people outside of himself and Robin were all massively underpaid?

I'm sure someone like Gary is overpaid vs a normal radio producer, but he was less a producer and more a character on the show
Gotta remember Gary had to do A LOT of outside work while on the show - store openings, car dealerships, etc. and was still doing it even in the early 2000s. I remember he said those awful gigs which sometimes would have next to zero people show up for was how he paid for his house.

This must be a recent change. The original 2006 contract did not include the staff in his $100 million salary.
Don’t forget Stern around the early 2010s put his foot down on his staff doing weekend gigs because Marci Turk convinced him it was a bad look for his “brand” when his staff pretty much had to do weekend gigs to supplement their income for years. That shows you Stern is a huge piece of shit - he claimed it would make people think he’s part of small bar gigs when nobody who would go see Richard & Sal or Ronnie Mund’s Block Party think Howard Stern is involved or would be showing up.

It’s funny he’s going to lose his radio gig, which is his whole identity, and then he’s going to lose his apartment in the inevitable divorce with his young husband.
