Private Parts was a box office bomb. His big America's Got Talent hosting gig lost viewers and he was fired. He has zero shows on his stations and no one to take over his program if he retires. He has no version of Rogan or Burr or other comics who can carry his torch. He's just completely delusional and acts like it's the 90s with his giant limousine and 80s rock star wig.
Private parts wasn't exactly a bomb, what seems to have happened is that Stern negotiated a piece of everything for himself when he was hot and the studios thought they would clean up. He had a piece of the theaters' concession money when they ran his movie. Nobody wants to make another movie with him because he was too greedy about all of it but not willing to take any chances if the movie flopped. So his greed backfired on him, even the theaters were cheating him by selling tickets to kid and play when people bought Private parts tickets so they could avoid sharing their concession revenue. He likely would have made more if he just lightened up with the greed and let people around him make their money without his hand in their pocket.

Factor in his divorce and he loses more than half of his earning before Sirius. But he's still probably close to $500 million in raw earnings. And we know that he never gives money to his family from their complaints on social media. And that he underpays his own staff like Ralph who died broke without even heaving health insurance. He keeps every single penny.
Which family complains on social media? I thought he was always paying for his daughters' shit at least.

Ralph's health insurance could have cost howard $1500 per month and he probably could have gotten that from sirius, or AFTRA just by putting Ralph on the payroll for his appearances. Scott the engineer after 30 years of service had to create a go fund me to get treatment for his wife. Even worse, Howard wouldn't mention it or promote it to help them out according to SJ or JAckie (I forget who)

Also what's more hilarious is that his ex-wife Allison married a guy who owned a bunch of shopping malls and is worth more than Howard. The big thing is that Sirius pays for Howard's entire life separately. His hotels, car rides, and airfare are all reimbursed by Sirius. And we know that he does stuff like flying Beth's cats on a private jet all of the time just to make Sirius pay more money for useless crap as revenge for the merger lawsuit he lost. This is why Howard keeps working. He has Sirius paying for his entire travel and hotel arrangements for his entire family. When his daughters fly anywhere or stay in a hotel it is Sirius that picks up the tab. Imagine how disgusted all those fired employees felt when it came out that Stern's daughters, and cats, get millions in free vacations and travel.
I'm not sure how his expenses work, Sirius is public so I assume that budget is accessible somehow. I do think a lot of his net worth is still tied up in stock. So he can live tax free by taking out loans against his portfolio and living on that. The few reports of him selling stock led to a quick dive afterwards so for him selling 10 million worth of stock cost him 20 million in net worth.

There must be one laid off employee out there who didn't sign an NDA, I would really like to hear what they think about Howard flying half a zoo back and forth between florida and LI with money that could cover 10 salaries. I never heard Scott the engineer speak out either.

Stern still thinks that podcasting will never take off and that young kids are more into satellite. He also fired his entire HowardTV staff a few years before streaming became an easy way to have a visual element for a radio show. He also has removed more than 90% of old material from his show archives when they play 'Best of Stern' on Sirius because he doesn't want his old politically incorrect image to tarnish his legacy. He has under 100K weekly listeners and that's being generous. The guy is irrelevant.

He loves to brag how Private Parts opened at number 1 yet it made under 15 million the first week since it came out on a slow weekend without any major competition. Jackass for example made 22 million its first weekend in 2002 and was number 1. Plus let’s not forget all his various tv / film projects that never happened he would mention like he’s working on some real big things (Howard stern high school years, porky’s remake, etc)

I think most of his deals fell through because he negotiated like a complete asshole, he thought everything should go to him and everyone else could pick up the scraps. He claims he never did merchandising because he didn't want to fleece his fans, he has also said people come to him to make merch deals with him but he won't accept anything less than all the profit up front for his permission. "Howard we can make 10 million selling tee shirts ...... okay give me 10 million and you can have permission"

That’s when I really started to hate stern since he seemed to hate the idea of them doing weekend gigs for extra money, especially when it’s clear Stern was known for being cheap when it came to his staff. Artie did a couple charity gigs for Scott’s dying wife while it sounds like Stern didn’t care.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the charity events with Artie are part of what got Scott shit-canned. It was around the time Artie started taking jabs at the new Howard. Scott tried to sell tickets to other staff, but everyone steered clear of it. Apparently to not suffer Stern's wrath when ratted out. Pretty fucked up.

The budget was 28 million and the total gross was 40 million in the US. That sucks by movie standards. Considering that Stern was a dick about everything from rejecting scripts for 5 years to refusing to sign unless he got a percentage of the popcorn sales. His first movie opportunity and he acted like he had a reputation for Mel Gibson numbers. Then he wonders why nobody else will offer him a movie deal or even a part in a movie afterwards. Him promoting his movie for 3 years also ruined his radio show, I mostly tuned out for that entire time

Funny how for years he goofed on Rush for selling merchandise and how he would “never” rip off his fans like that. In reality he would have had all kinds of jackie jokeland type merch if he could keep all the profit. Said he respected his fans too much to do that then released a book that was transcripts of his interviews he’s played to death and 10-15 pages of new material. Of course he made it sound like he busted his ass for years on a book that was 95% transcripts.

Jimmy is doomed. He's going all-in with his "henpecked married fella" bit, but it will fail. Watching those two interacting is like listening to a screaming baby on a long flight. He's a California Raisin with AIDS and Nikki just becomes manlier and manlier the longer you watch. No one does or ever will give a shit about them or their unholy union as anything more than a retarded novelty.
Will Nikki measure his cock during a podcast?

I remember Artie said they even did stuff like openings of places like LA Fitness which was funny since they were all fat slobs (Artie, Stuttering John, Gary, etc)
Weight loss drugs were pushed on the Stern show and E! Network like crazy. E! had those Anna Nicole Smith shows and she was sponsored by some meth level weight loss drug. And Crazy Cabbie got into all sorts of trouble with some weight loss pill company. And the other staff members, especially Robin, were always pushing some radical extreme diet. Robin once did something like a 30 days 'master cleanse' where she drank nothing but hot lemon water. Gary once did enemas during one of their weight loss contests.
and car dealerships which Gary said a couple times the only people that showed up were High Pitch Erik and Fred the elephant boy.
Gary once told a story in the early 90s about a time where he did an appearance that was supposed to be all day. And zero people showed up to the stereo store. He was so embarrassed he offered the owner a full refund but the guy paid him anyways. And apparently a lot of the gigs were like that. The two most crowded Gary appearances of all time were both ones where Stern sent dozens of CBS staffers to prank him by harassing him or the time that Stuttering John stole the Gary Puppet.
Private parts wasn't exactly a bomb, what seems to have happened is that Stern negotiated a piece of everything for himself when he was hot and the studios thought they would clean up.
It didn't make its money back in its theatrical run. Private Parts also had a massive advertising budget. Including a Super Bowl commercial spot that was likely a few million. It made $41 million but Stern would then lie on air several times and claim that it made $100 million in the box office despite two seconds of internet searching proving otherwise.
He had a piece of the theaters' concession money when they ran his movie.
Proof? You have no idea what you are talking about. Stern had no such deal.
He claims he never did merchandising because he didn't want to fleece his fans
Private Parts had millions of dollars put into merchandise. Hats, shirts, posters, and so on. They were destroyed as a tax write off or sent to niggers in third world countries like Super Bowl loser clothing. That's why Howard never did any major shirt or hat deals after his movie tanked.

While it's true he never resorted to selling cheap promotional swag, he had no problem fleecing his fans, as evidenced by the cassettes, VHS tapes, PPV shows and books he cranked out from the late 80s to the PP era. They were all pieces of shit, created on a shoestring budget. "Crucified" was just a collection of old radio bits, and the VHS tapes were pretty much just episodes of his old Channel 9 show, with some tits and profanity thrown in. I have to assume he preferred this approach because it allowed him to keep most of the money it generated.

Stern bragged about it himself, he was proud that he was the first person ever who was getting a % of popcorn sales. Pretty sure the theaters fucked him over for that by attributing his sales to the kid and play movie.

He used to talk about his merch offers before he had a movie. He claimed people approached him all the time telling him they would make millions with stern show crap. His response was always, "Okay give me millions and I'll let you use my name for merch" His movie garbage had to be a giant loss, he made 6 different CD covers hoping people would buy 6 copies of his cd. He was delusional.

Seems he had a hangup about counting other people's money. If he thought his film made 10 million he wanted 10 million for himself and begrudged anyone else making a profit. He complained to anyone who would listen about how little he made from his book, it seems he did the math $9 per book and I sold 2 million books, that means 18 million for me.

Remember when he used to do this with his VHS tapes too. He created the notion that "Crucified" was already a highly-prized collectible, and urged his fans to buy two copies of everything...one to use, and one to stash as an investment. And he'd say it in all seriousness, too. He'd have callers on claiming to have sold "Crucified" for hundreds of dollars and etc.

I just don’t like that he told his staff they couldn’t do gigs anymore on the weekends for extra money because he said it hurt his “brand” when the people going to these appearances knew Stern had nothing to do with it and would not be showing up. He said the only one allowed to do gigs post Ronnie’s block party was Schuli because he was a “comedian” (quite a stretch) and the appearances at least were enjoyed by the people going just to see / talk with guys from the show. I remember the Killers of Comedy shows (which were a mix of staff members / wack packers and comedians) even playing the Borgata in Atlantic City.

I think what made Stern put a stop to it was because it would lead to material for the show that had nothing to do with him and he didn’t like that for some reason. I remember when the show first went to Sirius you would have Sal, Richard, and even Artie sometimes on the wrap up show creating more content outside of the main show. One of Sal’s most popular show moments happened on the wrap up with his comment about Miss Howard Stern having a black baby. His news team created material as well outside of the show but now that’s a thing of the past.
I don't usually dabble in the conspiracy stuff but Shuli was born in a country that Stern hopes to support

He did all sorts of things like that, he had a psychologist working with him when his PPV deals were happening, Gary would come in and tell Howard how he paid for the PPV 3 different times because it was only 9 bucks, no big deal etc. Howard would pretend he thought that was silly and gary would explain how it was no big deal to spend 30 bucks on shit that was mostly free. "Id spend 50 bucks on a baseball game, whats the big deal spending 30 on your PPV?" He really believed he could fleece his fans without sharing the loot with any support staff.

There have always been idiots to fleece, I paid for cable television for 20 years, I learned my lesson. Every entertainment platform is free if nobody rushes to join up. The only entertainment you really need can be streamed for 99 cents today or found on youtube next month

This is an outright fabrication from Stern who is a known liar. Lucas didn't get this with the Star Wars prequels. In fact his negotiations went so poorly that most theaters in NYC didn't carry Phantom Menace. Private Parts was distributed by Paramount who never had any deal like this. This is about as accurate as Stern's "it made $100 million in theaters" claim.

First off how would the theaters know who was purchasing popcorn. If ten different movies are playing they are not going to ask you which movie you saw when you got your popcorn. They just give you your candy and soda and move on to the next person. The exception is when you ask for branded popcorn buckets and soda cups like they have for Star Wars or Disney or whatever. The theaters give up a percentage for that. Stern never had branded concessions like big summer blockbusters do.

That was pretty much all before Private Parts. After his movie bombed he became far more cautious. All of his big plans for the Porky's Remake, Rock and Roll High School, Howard Stern the High School Years, Miss America Movie, all went to the garbage. 80s and 90s Stern of course pumped out massive levels of merchandise all the while mocking Jackie for his Jokeland items. And now that his America's Got Talent move bombed he's like a recluse that just does his radio show from his basement.
