Someone much better and smarter is graduating from New Delhi U this year and he'll work 80 hours a week for half your salary. At least you have some nice decorations for your wall.

So we agree that’s totally wrong?

I’m a diligent and productive worker, I can count on both hands the amount of times I’ve phoned in sick in my entire working life from 17. From McDonald’s to my career now.

I’m a good worker, I’m easy to get along with and I know my industry - why should I have to compete with an Indian?

If I had my same job 30 years ago, I’d be comfortably middle class in a nice big house, but because of the way it is now, I have an apartment instead.

He had a wife who was out of his league, she insisted on living in Greenwich CT in a house that only a realtor would tell you was affordable on his salary. He had no choice but to work more if he wanted to maintain his wife's lifestyle. Howard would never write a check to help him and he never seemed that happy to see Gary making extra money. Howard let his best buddy die because he couldn't afford health insurance and ralph knew better than to ask for help.
I just don’t like that he told his staff they couldn’t do gigs anymore on the weekends for extra money because he said it hurt his “brand” when the people going to these appearances knew Stern had nothing to do with it and would not be showing up. He said the only one allowed to do gigs post Ronnie’s block party was Schuli because he was a “comedian” (quite a stretch) and the appearances at least were enjoyed by the people going just to see / talk with guys from the show. I remember the Killers of Comedy shows (which were a mix of staff members / wack packers and comedians) even playing the Borgata in Atlantic City.

I think what made Stern put a stop to it was because it would lead to material for the show that had nothing to do with him and he didn’t like that for some reason. I remember when the show first went to Sirius you would have Sal, Richard, and even Artie sometimes on the wrap up show creating more content outside of the main show. One of Sal’s most popular show moments happened on the wrap up with his comment about Miss Howard Stern having a black baby. His news team created material as well outside of the show but now that’s a thing of the past.

It is wrong but I am thrilled that it is going to happen to people like you. You absolutely deserve it so if you believe in Karma, this is what it looks like.

You're an average drone with no creativity or skills that are unique, give 300 indians a chance and see if they can't find 100 who do a better job cheaper. Basic capitalism.

You can dream that, but there is a reason you are a failure, those reasons would have been true 30 years ago so you'd have the same problems and they would be your fault then just like now. Losers lived in crappy apartments 30 years ago too, its not like they were giving houses away.

I suggest that you never learn anything new, never adapt to anything and just stay on the lookout for people you can blame for your failures, it has worked out so well for you this far.

Since 2020 when we started offshoring and I began fire fighting their mistakes, I’ve received the highest annual performance review scores and been awarded the highest percentage salary increases.

In a Fortune 500 company we all know, who are notorious for being Penny pinchers with such things.

Interesting.

The place you work sounds like the place I work, and it feels like the Indians are doing everything in their power to push the Old White Guys out of the company.

I could care less about a payraise but I'd really like to make it another year so my 401K vests.

I have zero debt (besides a mortgage) - I bought a newish car in cash, I have 20k in my savings account, I outright own my parents house 50/50 with my brother.

I make 8k a month. I’m doing just fine. I have an apartment but it’s a nice one.

I’m not explaining again but I have a lot of family commitments.

Have you considered I’m so upset and angry at things because I’ve been working amongst it intimately for years?

I suspect if I named the company in India which handles all the offshore stuff, you’d know them quite well.

It’s literally the onion sketch, they also offshore from India to ever increasing poorer countries. There are scales of offshore, ranging from the basic who know “cursory” English to fluent speakers. We mostly use the cheapest.

I always remember he didn't like seeing his staff making money with "heard on Howard Stern" type gigs. Every time he had a problem with someone at work he would bring up "You showed up on time for your side gig though, didn't you?"

I always just thought he didn't like seeing his employees making more than he felt they deserved or something like that. I worked with a contractor who paid his guys cash so they could qualify for unemployment for 30 weeks per year, he didn't pay them their regular pay though, he would keep 300 per week for himself because they were getting $400 - 500 per week from UI. I never understood why the guys would do that for him but he did it for years and was able to under bid most of his competition.

I wonder if Stern would have changed his tune if the guys came back from those gigs and gave him a cut

I'll fork this into the off-topic thread, to rant about it

You feel the need to post your resume here for me, that makes me laugh. You have shit and you are about to be replaced. The best part of this whole thing is that this is exactly what you support when it comes to politics, you just thought it would happen to other people.

You have no wife and no kids, so your family commitments are bullshit.

Don't care enough to consider anything about your situation other than to laugh about how you're about to get screwed by the exact politics that you support. If only you could find the humor in it like I do.

I've been a citizen long than you, Elon and trump are really going to bat for me next year, they are protecting my capital against lazy americans who think they shouldn't have to compete with the new, better workforce.

Lo
One of my favorite "metrics of success" is "does a video of white noise get more views?"

And as you'd expect, there are TONS of Jim and Sam videos on YT that are so unmemorable, they get something like 5% as many hits as "white noise."

1) The two most popular videos of white noise on YT, they have 264M and 65M views, respectively https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=white+noise

2) The most popular video from Jim and The Viking has 0.121M views:

look at that grotesque visage of Anthony in the thumbnail. That’s the most human shot they could find of him.

Being anti open borders and globalism doesn’t mean you need to be socialist. We agree Trump has betrayed his people on this.

He's doing me a favor, thousands of favors really. Under his tax plan next year I will pay significantly less in taxes as long as I keep my income over $360,000. My accountant loves trump. Plus I get to watch people like you wake up to the reality of what they supported these past 10 years. If you want to restrict competition and ensure gainful employment for yourself, you will need to move to a communist country now, capitalism means competition and Elon is bringing competition.

I think he originally thought Sirius would be much bigger than it turned out to be, leading up to the merger he spent his budget to be competitive, once they took over XM his goals switched to just keeping all the money he could.
Stern still thinks that podcasting will never take off and that young kids are more into satellite. He also fired his entire HowardTV staff a few years before streaming became an easy way to have a visual element for a radio show. He also has removed more than 90% of old material from his show archives when they play 'Best of Stern' on Sirius because he doesn't want his old politically incorrect image to tarnish his legacy. He has under 100K weekly listeners and that's being generous. The guy is irrelevant.

Private Parts was a box office bomb. His big America's Got Talent hosting gig lost viewers and he was fired. He has zero shows on his stations and no one to take over his program if he retires. He has no version of Rogan or Burr or other comics who can carry his torch. He's just completely delusional and acts like it's the 90s with his giant limousine and 80s rock star wig.
I would guess that stern has much less than you think.
Factor in his divorce and he loses more than half of his earning before Sirius. But he's still probably close to $500 million in raw earnings. And we know that he never gives money to his family from their complaints on social media. And that he underpays his own staff like Ralph who died broke without even heaving health insurance. He keeps every single penny.

Also what's more hilarious is that his ex-wife Allison married a guy who owned a bunch of shopping malls and is worth more than Howard. The big thing is that Sirius pays for Howard's entire life separately. His hotels, car rides, and airfare are all reimbursed by Sirius. And we know that he does stuff like flying Beth's cats on a private jet all of the time just to make Sirius pay more money for useless crap as revenge for the merger lawsuit he lost. This is why Howard keeps working. He has Sirius paying for his entire travel and hotel arrangements for his entire family. When his daughters fly anywhere or stay in a hotel it is Sirius that picks up the tab. Imagine how disgusted all those fired employees felt when it came out that Stern's daughters, and cats, get millions in free vacations and travel.

Stern also had that blow up on-air when Ronnie asked him if Howard would let the promoter show Private Parts at one of the Block Parties.

Plus a lot of those gigs were all the stuff Stern would never do or had done early in his career. I remember Artie said they even did stuff like openings of places like LA Fitness which was funny since they were all fat slobs (Artie, Stuttering John, Gary, etc) and car dealerships which Gary said a couple times the only people that showed up were High Pitch Erik and Fred the elephant boy.

That’s when I really started to hate stern since he seemed to hate the idea of them doing weekend gigs for extra money, especially when it’s clear Stern was known for being cheap when it came to his staff. Artie did a couple charity gigs for Scott’s dying wife while it sounds like Stern didn’t care.

We’ve seen how once these guys leave the show they fall hard so I don’t see a problem with these guys making money while they can - plus the fans got a kick out of meeting the people from the show. People that went / paid for tickets for the gigs they did all knew Stern wouldn’t be there and he had nothing to do with it.
