My point is you’re the exact same as them. What makes you think you’re different? Economic situations that will more than likely go away and you’ll be in the same position they were? You keep acting like you were born at the same time, as if a generation is a race. What makes you think you won’t have economic advantages when you’re 70? What makes you think the younger generations aren’t going to complain about how good you had it, and how you ruined everything? You also have an obsession about the housing market. There’s a million reasons why that shit has changed. Population increase is a major reason. It’s not boomers fault the great generation popped out 10 kids per family. It’s also about to collapse and you’ll be able to get a decent deal if you’re willing to make changes. The only thing to blame, consistently throughout history, is human beings need for government. The government tricks people into doing things, then it fucks shit up. That happened then, and it happens now. You’re stuck blaming a generation of people for basically, creating you, and making you more intelligent and aware than they are. You create a fake enemy for your own inadequacies.

I understand what you’re saying but you’re wrong if you think this is how things normally go, like it’s a cycle. It’s not.

The consumption, the debt, the fiscal policies of the last generation is not normal, it won’t “correct” itself or come full circle. It will collapse. This isn’t normal. I’m not saying my music is better than those old folks maaaan they just don’t get me!

I’m saying they’ve destroyed the country irreversibly. It’s not just the impending financial doom. It’s food supplies, it’s arable farm land. It’s arming terrorists, it’s none stop war. It’s so many things.

They’ve directly and savagely fucked everybody after them, and I’m allowed to autistically rant about it to like minded people on a random forum.

It’s still cyclical, and it goes back to my point. What society has not had government? We’ve never tried real capitalism. The government has always been involved in everything. Boomers were at a point in history, where they did what everyone does. Take shit for themselves, and not be concerned about it. Their other option? Magically be more intelligent, and aware, and somehow prolong the inevitable. This happens in every society, and always will. The most you can do is prolong it. It’s just a symptom of government, and the idea that people need to be told what to do, and be pushed into how to do it. We were born at a shitty time and that’s it. Are boomers pretty unaware of their good fortune? Absolutely. They’re also way less educated and had way less time to think about morality. You’ve had life easier, and way more time to think. You just also happened to come up in a time that sucks. Human beings do not change, therefore nothing changes……….Maaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhnnnn.

People have been saying since my grandmother was a little girl (the depression) that it’s all ending soon and going to shit but it seems like it’s really happening now, especially with the Rome comparisons. We have a society that is awarding each other for just for existing and working to destroy everything that holds it together. Plus Pat is fat.
Even putting economic shit aside, there is a frighteningly real and growing sentiment that just because the founding fathers owned slaves, that the entire concept of America is racist and the whole thing needs to be torn down. Youth are being indoctrinated to believe this. What exactly they want to replace it with is probably retarded.

Some days I think everything will be fine, but others I think we’re truly doomed. Truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

Look at the debt, look at the unsecured liabilities, look at the manufacturing void, look at spending habits, look at all this shit. It’s not normal, it’s not just how it is and the zoomers will think I’m a boomer. They have quite literally raped this country. It’s not rebounding. It’s when we default, when do we admit we’re insolvent, that there’s nothing there? That we’ve let boomers turn us into professional consumers who offer nothing.

You know I’m right, this isn’t normal generational rivalry and bickering.

Dude, this happens historically throughout societies. You want to pin point boomers as the catalyst? Yeah, you’re not wrong. Rome got completely fucked, in almost the exact same way. It’s the way shit goes. Being mad, at a generation of people, for doing the exact same thing that every generation of people in that position did, is retarded. The only solution to solving the generational problem is, completely changing human behavior. If you were a boomer, you would have been the exact same thing. I hate to sound like joe, unironically, but you resent them for being in a good position in history. Not defending boomers stupidity, I’m just saying you would have done the same thing in the same circumstances. You might pretend you wouldn’t, but it’s a cope. Shit sucks now, because they were busy partying and making money. You’re just mad you couldn’t be partying and making money.

yeah but you’re just sounding like Joe rogan, not Joe Cumia.

“you ever think how people are a result of their environment and luck and how events shape you?”

yeah but I can still hate them for being the way they are, it’s not like they wasn’t warned either.

The way they treated things is 100% unique in the industrial modern world, it’s staggeringly selfish. It doesn’t matter if I’d be part of the problem if I was born then. It’s still a problem and they’re still parasites.

That’s what is scary, people are being told that america is evil, and word salad nonsense like “rooted in systematic white supremacy” (they love to say whatever they don’t like is because of that) and teaching the youth how America is bad, white people are evil and racist, owning property is racist, etc etc and they believe it. I remember on the news in Philly people were upset about a Christopher Columbus statue and had black ladies yelling “this statues shows in not free in the country!” Which makes zero sense when people (especially black due to diversity) have every advantage possible. Every 4th of July you see dumb blue checks on twitter proudly claiming America sucks, they hate it, and people AGREE with them. They really want to tear everything down and have the government run their lives through some socialism idea. With the older generations dying and the younger being told this they will end up voting for nonsense that will just make everyone equally miserable. Also Pat is fat.

The only solace is knowing that whatever is happening right know, will be studied and discussed for many many eons, and we are able to experience it in real time. Im not even being sarcastic, thats kinda how I cope with it and just enjoy that Im experiencing history.

Damn thats just messed up to me. I think if your son is a productive member of society thats earnestly trying to save money to buy a house, you should give him a place to sleep.
He told me he was doing a lot of acid at the time and moved in with his girlfriend and her parents for a bit. He managed to pull his shit together and get a place at university when he was about 20.

Like I said, you’re right. But blaming the downfall of Rome on the generation that got too greedy, is retarded. And seething about it is even more retarded. It was going to happen regardless. We have thousands of years of history, and it’s all the same. Even if they theoretically took a stand, it would just be starting to happen today. Rome was destined to fall, so is America. No one solved the problem of humans innate need to control one another. The worst case scenario is prolonging the inevitable, which is what you wished boomers would have done.

I was TOLD that I probably wouldn't see my SS by the time I reach the age. My first job after I got a paycheck and asked about SS because my parents naturally didn't educate me on it. I learned from my boss who was from Honduras.
I'm pretty much resigned that I'll probably have to work for the rest of my life until I croak. If I'm lucky, with on again off again retirements and/or family support.

So you’re basically saying in another 200 years China will have their boomers suck the bones dry of their super power status. Which is likely true, but it’s still valid to resent them for being complicit in everything. It’s not like they’re enjoying the fruits of a bloated decadent empire reluctantly, they’re actively preventing their kids from getting in on the action while it lasts.

Right. But what I don’t think you’re getting, is that there’s no point in prolonging the inevitable. We’ve let banks get away with shit, starting even before the boomers. This has caused probably 30 years and on going, of financial suffering. Why would you want people to put another bandaid on it? The reality is, no one is going to start a revolution over it, which is the real fix. They’re going to, at best, slowly regulate it, which the banks will fight and adapt to. Prolonging the collapse. Which means a longer period of people being fucked. To now relate this to boomers, sure, they could have paid attention and fought. Maybe America would be slightly better now. Not by much, and they’d all be middle class losers, with nothing to show for their efforts. Their grandchildren may have had a better chance, but their great grandchildren wouldn’t. There’s no use in not taking advantage of what you can, when you can. Everything involving a government is going to fail eventually. It just causes more suffering trying to fight it, then letting it burn out on its own.

The only real difference between boomers and millennials is time. They argue over the exact same thing, and are nearly the exact same people. You think you’re a good person now, but two generations later will point out how you’re a selfish faggot. The “Great” generation were pieces of shit too, by the way. The media just doesn’t portray it like that. Because no one wants to shit on the people who gave their life for a meaningless war in Europe. That half the country didn’t want.

Boomia post over.

This boomer interaction I had with work colleagues and my boss is the funniest summary of them.

We were talking about stuff and I was saying my wage today, for the same job you had at my age, has significantly less spending power - and house prices are 10-20x more expensive, so how can I accumulate wealth the same?

“… your wage is bigger than mine was!” - yeah but the number doesn’t matter, it’s spending power matters.

“… but number bigger!”

then when I tried to explain inflation to them, I picked a random food item as an example, I don’t even eat it often but I just thought it was something they’d all understand, and I talked about the cost of steak. I knew my error immediately and then they all started laughing and walking off smug and proud “… kids today want steak dinners every night! We didn’t have steak dinners back in my day!”

I truly hate them.

Tell them to choke on haggis.

Guarantee they won't even know that the Fuck it is, the philistines.

If you aren’t already an old boomer faggot, I’d start putting money away somewhere else, I put it all in Bitcoin. Maybe that’s retarded too but seems safer to me. In cold storage, I don’t keep it on exchanges which will inevitably collapse when the tether fraud is exposed.

I realised a long time ago they’ll be nothing left in social security or pension funds when I’m old. They only kept the giant Ponzi scheme going by rug pulling and creating more and more money and debt - it can’t happen indefinitely. View attachment 45801
You're blaming boomers of which I'm not of draining the money they had taken from them, supposedly for them? The government used that 15% or so on the general fund rather than invest it. The state robbed it not old boomers, mine will be gone before I get there, hundreds of thousands just gone that if invested in equities would be millions. The boomers did not do this.

They always like to point out that their interest rate on their first mortgage was 9% or something

Then you point out, the average house price was 2x the average wage, and the average house then was big and nice - they don’t seem to hear you and just “9%!!!!!”

I’m sure they had problems too but fuck do boomers like to act like they’re Jesus being nailed to the cross at all times
When were housing prices ever less than 4 times the median wage in the USA? Get a grip, admittedly at the current 7 times it's crazy , but it never was 2 times. Shit not only that it never approached 50's level highs until like 2004. Calm down.
