Read. He falsified business records. He rendered the invoices as “legal services” when he had never once paid Cohen for his legal services and he knew this was reimbursement. Thats literally the textbook definition of falsification.

But ok, that’s just a misdemeanor. What makes it a felony? The fact that Cohen broke election law giving an unreported contribution, no less over the limit, to Stormy at the behest and benefit of the Trump campaign. That is against election law. Because Trump paid Cohen back and tried to disguise what this payment was for, that gives a motive to the falsification.

Why should it be a crime? The underlying election law should be a crime because you shouldn’t be allowed to donate insane amounts on the behalf of a candidates campaign without disclosing it - Transparency.
