It's kind of funny that you were bothered by the mice enough to contact the landlord when you moved in but you just immediately turned the place into a rodent haven anyways. They're probably dragging their balls around on you and pissing all over you while you sleep.
You need to hobble your ass to a Canadian Tire or Home Hardware, buy a box of contractor bags and then put your garbage in the bags. You'll feel better just having some floor space, I swear. It also won't take nearly as long as you think it will. It's exactly like when we were talking about not showering or shaving for a few days and then as soon as you do you're like "Why the fuck didn't i do that sooner? I feel good." Also, you won't use all the bags so you can have extras to continue using as garbage receptacles so you can keep shit off your surfaces and floors. It's so easy, man, and I promise you'll prefer the outcome to what you've got going on now.
