It was an easy shot. He didn't make it because a cop spooked him climbing up on the roof to confront him. So he fired a couple of panic shots that missed then got his head turned into a watermelon by a police sniper. If that cop didn't climb the roof to see who that person with a rifle was he probably gets a direct hit on Trump either in the head or center mass.

The cop said that he went to get on the roof and the shooter turned around and pointed the rifle directly at him. At that point the shooter had to make the shot in seconds before a police sniper or office blasted him. He got within an inch of a kill shot. The fact that he missed means he gets mocked as an eternal loser fag idiot of course. The Bill Buckner of assassination attempts. 4Chan called him "Ree Tardy Oswald".

Watch the shooting and slow it down to like 0.25 speed, you can see Trump turn and a sexy blonde over his right shoulder is looking directly at his head. She sees his ear get hit with the first shot and instantly reacts. The only thing that saved him was that he moved his head literally mid trigger squeeze. Had he not moved at that very half a second then the bullet would have blown the right and back side of his head out... If it's not an act of God, then he's really the luckiest Man on Earth.
