Pat is angry at his industry, guess Tiny Tim isn’t coming anytime soon

That is a weirdly specific number so I actually believe it. Which is hilarious. If all of his books had the same rate, he would need to have sold over 135,000 copies of his books just to clear $50,000. A) there's no way he's anywhere near that, he's probably sold 1/10th that amount all time. B) that doesn't even include the books needing to earn out their advances to even trigger royalties. He makes almost no money.

There’s no need to speculate, bookscan is the industry standard measurement used by publishers and agents, it’s not 100% but it’s not substantially far off. If bookscan says you sold 5k copies, the real number might actually be 6k, it doesn’t change the informed decision of agents.

We have seen his bookscan numbers and heard how he’s viewed by publishers from Boston Brand who proved anonymously he’s in that world.

Carefully, Garth Earl Jenkins sharpened his battle wreath while his wife organized ornaments into egg cartons, pins ready to pull.

He really is an awful writer.

Ack! Holiday paper! Even Garth was doing it. He had to be careful, even inside his own head. The signs had been there for years. Small at first, so’s you wouldn’t notice. Happy Holiday signs, towns holding Winter Festivals, red cups at coffee shops. But Garth had seen it. Seen it all coming from miles away. But no one listened ‘til it was too late.

Now, Black Friday had come, the day the War on Christmas went hot.
But, start a sentence with "But" again, stupid.

It has been 148 days since March 27, when he announced he sent Tiny Tim: Cruise Control out "into the wild" & for acquisition editors to marvel at. Almost 5 months and not a single bite. No real publisher is going to touch that crap and everyone in the industry knows who he is by now and not to get involved. He's a horrible investment with no upside and years of absolutely horrendous public image calling people horrible things, telling parents of handicapped kids they should've aborted their child, calling people stalkers 10000s of time, etc. A brief Google will show he once threatened to murder a pregnant woman and her baby and might be creating fraudulent crimes against himself for attention.

You can't lawsuit and virtue signal your way out of a decade of being the world's shittiest person and Patrick has almost no talent to get published by someone despite the controversies and ugliness.

Don’t forget hijacking threads from peers about their dying child to joke about cocaine and talk about sex.

I’m sure that doesn’t help his rancid reputation in writing circles.

Imagine him waddling over to the Angry Robot table to try and pitch Tiny Tim, only to see his first two books on the "3 for £15 - must move quickly!!" pile. They're probably in a Glasgow trash can now.

His third book in that trilogy never got a mass market paperback release which I think is interesting. There must be a sales cutoff for them to justify it and he didn't hit it.

When he was signed by Tor, he had two things going for him:

-modest success at a small time publisher with his The Ark trilogy
-a decent-sized and growing Twitter following

He also had some ancillary stuff like a good agent and a side gig as a stand up comedian, but those two things above were key. He could have been looked at as a solid investment.

He torpedoed both of those things. First, he now has a track record at a major publisher as a failure. Second, A) it's not 2015 so no one cares about Twitter anymore and B) he let his very modest fame go to his head and became much more of a belligerent asshole on Twitter. Irrespective of his stalking/SWAT-ing/lawsuit shit, he's unmarketable and toxic. He's never getting another good book deal again.
