Not saying Opie is super talented, but he had the brand and the pedigree that he *could've* spun records vs. Anthony who had a much more uphill climb when he left SXM. Opie's biggest L was not swallowing his pride and treating a gig at WBAB as a fun semi-retirement side hustle for $20k/year. It would've paid some bills while his fortune did the rest.

Speaking of that fight, go back and listen. When Opie says "Just because you care about the show now..." he had Anthony dead to rights. Anthony left early, showed up hungover, directed Po when to get his car on the air, etc.
Fell asleep on the job, brought his girlfriend in studio to sit on his lap, not staying later for meetings. But Opie is the bad guy

Of course I'm alive. I just stopped posting here. It's boring and tiring when you guys just Tourette's the same 4 or 5 things to me over and over and over and derail any thread I post in with your dumb bullshit. Why continue that.

Well, that comment was "restricted" for calling him an obese mongoloid. Wasn't sure how Twitter works anymore so I just switched to make sure he sees it. I don't even know what this old fuck is even talking about. He called me out? About what. When.

Fred Levine is a self hating Jew who sucks the cock of a raging anti-Semite. Fred Levine holds the record for being starstruck for the longest amount of time ever. I remember being an intern, and that shit wears off after a few weeks. Fred is still slurping his hero's vas deferens over 20 years later. Fred is only "friends" with Anthony because Anthony is a huge pussy in the first place and is too afraid to tell people "NO", so when idiot fanboys like Fred ask to play poker, it's always a "yes" to avoid the confrontation, and then because of Anthony's "if you been here before" rule, he just started showing up to everything. That's how Anthony has most of his friends. All fanboys he's too pussy to say no to. I'm sure Big A and Anthony are just the best of friends as well. Probably fucking Facetime every night. When Fred Levine finally dies, Anthony will go "Oh wow..", send a RIP tweet, and promptly never think about him again. Meanwhile, Fred wakes up at the asscrack of dawn to slob his master's knob first thing.
Fred from Brooklyn was who brought you back here?

The only reason the show ended is because of Anthony. Also, Anthony is still bitter over the fact that Opie didn't stood up against Sirius after his firing. I still don't know why Anthony thinks Opie should've stood up for him, while Opie knew both him and Jim were mocking him behind his back.

Opie took all of it for granted (Cumia and Norton did to to larger extent) and now a literal chimp is doing their job for a fraction of the cost. Most of those guys a like Sam, Travis and Troy have no idea what it’s like to work for a living.

Show undying loyalty towards a man who hated his guts for literally 0 benefit. Well actually, 1 benefit: Anthonys.

And we all know Anthony wouldn’t do shit if Opie got fired. He’d actually jump to sit in his chair and do the Ant and Jim show.

Anthony left early? When was that. I do recall however, Opie bailing on the show numerous times.

does Fred realize Nana’s slut wants every Jew dead? Or hard on for MAGA shit outweighs it

It's called willful ignorance. He just ignores all the stuff he doesn't like because he has fond memories of eating a hotdog with Anthony that one party 15 years ago.

Lmao, what a bizarrely hostile response

Bro what? Everybody on this forum can't fucking wait to call me liar. About what? No idea, as I have no motivation to lie about anything. So when somebody says "IF true", I'm going to throw it back at you. You know what's actually bizarre? The fact that this forum exists and that people wake up in the 6AM hour to talk about me for some reason. How shitty are your lives that you're STILL clinging to O&A scraps for happiness. I stopped working there in 2012. It's 2025. I've spent more time NOT working there than working there now and you still have shit to talk. Kind of amazing, in a terrifying way.

But "Pathetic if true" is a landmark jab from the Opester.

Sorry bud, I don't have decades of Opie quotes and Tweets just chilling in the forefront of my mind. It's quite a feat to literally remember every throwaway ass thing people say or do. Is it easy? Do you have to study? Is it just legit autism?

Fred is such a fucking faggot. So you call Danny out on Twitter, acting like you're hot shit, Danny shows up and suddenly you go quiet.

What else is new. You guys do it too.

@BenDovid there was like 5-6 producers at any given time right? Plus an army of interns. I had heard he didn’t actually work the board in studio and that it was Erock or someone else doing that. He’s as lazy as Cumia and it shows. They’ve literally had everyone do the work for them.

Early XM there was Ben/Steve/Erik. Steve was doing prod all day in the back. Not prod as in producing the show, prod as in sweepers and promos. Basic imaging. So he was non-existent. Erik was only Opie's monkey boy. Erik did not provide prep, content, news, anything. Just serve Opie hand and foot. So realistically, Than, Derek, Travis and I were desperately needed. Derek took on the live air board which would throw XM to DC commercials. Opie ran the in-studio mix. Anthony never ran any board. He had his instant replay sound machine, and that was it. The only time Erock ran a board was at CBS where he threw to commercial. He fucked that up though and I took over at CBS until the final show.

I've run though this numerous times. Those guys didn't do shit. Opie would read USA today and take a shit. Anthony showed up at 5:45. All of them couldn't get out of there fast enough. No prep meetings. No guidance. No creative meetings. They showed up, talked on the air and left. That's all they did that I witnessed.

But Opie is the bad guy

Well, even with girlfriends on his lap, the man could fire out a witty comment and have the place rolling. Or do an impression. Or just you know...be generally funny. Opie didn't stay late for meeting either. Opie didn't even stay late for Kirk Hammett. This Opie larp is so fucking old and dumb. How old is the "we pretend to like Opie" bit now, 10? 12?

Opie knew both him and Jim were mocking him behind his back.

It was frustrating to have the least funny, least interesting, most annoying host fail to contribute time and time again, only to act like King Shit on and off the air. The ego of this man was legendary, and he deserved every last bit of shit talk he got. The guy was very lucky to be there. Like others have said, he was good and steering the ship. But that's it.

Most of those guys a like Sam, Travis and Troy have no idea what it’s like to work for a living.

I'm thinking they're gonna find out real soon. I don't see The Sam Show justifying multiple large paychecks. Don't forget, Travis has been there for 20 years now. He's easily maxed out on salary years ago, but he's making as much as he ever will there. The show simply just doesn't generate the cash needed to operate. There's no way on Earth.
He’d actually jump to sit in his chair and do the Ant and Jim show.

To be fair, everyone on staff loved Nopie days. The vibe was so much more comfortable. The whole Greggshells thing is 100% real. That's how it felt working with him. It fucked sucked and he made everyone's life miserable with his asshole ego.

My point was that Ant expected Opie to throw his career away defending a guy who hated him when we all know Anthony would have never stuck up for Opie had Opie fucked up and gotten himself fired.

He was an opportunistic whore waiting for the Opster to get shitcanned so it could be HIS show. Hence why Anthony made 0 effort to get Opie or Jim involved with Compound - He started it immediately after getting fired and didn’t even ask them about what their plans were when the contract was up or anything.

3 years later? Different story. Anthony realized, even if he couldn’t admit it, that no one wants to listen to “the Anthony show”. So the minute the Opster split with Jim? Anthony is calling into his show every week, begging to get back in. When the Opster gets fired? Anthony defends him, begging to get back in. Then he offers 50% of his company to Opie twice…begging to get back in.

I don't think Anthony expected Opie to "throw his career away". I think Anthony understood that "The Opie & Anthony Show" is a brand. A brand with value. The Opie Show is nothing. The Anthony show is nothing. We don't even have to pontificate here, we got to watch it happen in real time. I believe the intent was to bring the Opie & Anthony brand elsewhere, together. By that time though, there was so much simmering behind the scenes there was no way they were ever going to work together again. None of this shit is new, it started during the 2002-2004 break. These guys didn't have to see each other everyday. Living their own lives. Now you come back in 2004, rich, completely different people.

I think you guys forget sometimes... THEY MADE 8 FIGURES IN THE TIME FROM THE WNEW FIRING TO XM.

10 MIL. Stay home. Do whatever you want. Buy whatever you want. Go wherever you want. You guys really wanna believe these were two bffs from Long Island when in reality, they had a few years of friendship and became co-dependant co-workers.

I don't think Anthony expected Opie to "throw his career away".
Well Anthony wanted Opie to threaten to leave. I think we all know what little sway O&A had by 2014. If Opie did that they would have absolutely told him to fuck off. Sirius loves wasting money but they also love cutting heads they don’t think are profitable. And at whatever Opie was making? Now without the O&A brand? They would have said BYE! So in essence, Anthonys idea of Opie defending his job was getting fired with him.
I believe the intent was to bring the Opie & Anthony brand elsewhere, together.
But the intent of who? Certainly not Anthony. He didn’t have one conversation with Opie or Jim post-firing about moving O&A to Compound or another platform. No discussion about what they would do after their contracts were up. Maybe Anthony assumed they would last out their contracts and not resign, believing O&J wanted to only do a show with Anthony. But thats a mighty dumb thing to assume without offering any alternative. Again, even in that scenario, Anthony expected Opie and Jim to drop everything after that contract and magically move the O&A brand to his basement based on no prior conversations or negotiations to do so.

If Anthony understood/understands the branding of Opie and Anthony, he wouldn’t have been the first one to talk shit on air about the other person after his firing. He wouldn’t have spent 2 entire shows shitting on Opie when Opie had stayed neutral on air the entire time. Nana hit him like the Ex girlfriend you are to him. Nice “branding”, stupid. There is no way you can ever say Anthony is “smart” after his firing. He has fucked up every single possible step of the way. When forgiven for it, he fucks up again.

You're really invested in a radio show that ended when you were 8.

Somewhere on a Married With Children forum, some asshole is shit talking the actor who played Seven and calling his dad a dead kike. That's you.
