Not saying Opie is super talented, but he had the brand and the pedigree that he *could've* spun records vs. Anthony who had a much more uphill climb when he left SXM. Opie's biggest L was not swallowing his pride and treating a gig at WBAB as a fun semi-retirement side hustle for $20k/year. It would've paid some bills while his fortune did the rest.

Speaking of that fight, go back and listen. When Opie says "Just because you care about the show now..." he had Anthony dead to rights. Anthony left early, showed up hungover, directed Po when to get his car on the air, etc.

Why hasn't he been able to do anything remotely good after the end of O&A?

I sometimes watch his podcast from time to time and it is absolutely horrendous. It is just him reading superchats. Also his youtube videos are embarrassing. If he isn't click baiting with O&A related stuff, he's either dancing in traffic or annoying people in public.

I am genuinely curious why he isn't putting any effort into the things he's doing.

I think Anthony's basically right when he says that if Opie puts in zero effort, nobody can really criticize his non-show, because it's just a hang.

As for the post-O&A stuff, I'm not saying Opie could carry a show on his own. No no no. He'd need "his guys" but there's enough draw that goes with the name that he should've gotten a job. "His guys" would've carried the show, pounded the pavement for sponsors, and done all the technical work, but it would've been perfectly adequate and made everyone money.

And he would've been able to rub it in Anthony's face, "I made $2,000 this month, which is about $6,000 more than Anthony made." Would've been PFG.

The last time he had to put any effort into anything was at WNEW. He got rich didn’t have to work for 2 years and when he got to XM had a staff of people to do the work for him. @BenDovid there was like 5-6 producers at any given time right? Plus an army of interns. I had heard he didn’t actually work the board in studio and that it was Erock or someone else doing that. He’s as lazy as Cumia and it shows. They’ve literally had everyone do the work for them.
