Pro wrestling was never really "cool". There was a time when it was considerably less gay, and it's been moderately popular too, but wrestling has always been on the bottom rung of the show business ladder. IMO it was more entertaining back when it was still trying to pretend to be a legitimate sport. Once they abandoned that pretense, there was just no point to it anymore.
