The second night was much better than the first.

The end though -- essentially they had Rock, Cena, and Undertaker come back. Undertaker literally was on screen for maybe 30 seconds. Probably got paid $1 million.

That's the problem with wrestling fans (among being mostly losers): their standards are just so low. In the entire story for the main event, there was no reason for Undertaker to be involved in anyway. But he comes out in sweatpants and a hoodie, does a choke slam to the Rock who really jumps up high, and the fans just lose their shit. It's low effort on the company's part and fans eat it up.

It seems like the current / future of WWE is making it pretty clear it’s a show and scripted entertainment. Just last night they thanked the people in charge of creative by name and had them come out which was something McMahon would never do.

They pivoted from not breaking "kayfabe" even in public. Like if someone recognized a wrestler in public they'd immediately revert to their fake persona. And they'd have to travel in their WWF entourage off camera as well in case someone saw them. Like Undertaker would travel with Paul Bearer or whatever.

Now they are openly talking about their wrestling storylines to the fans and not even hiding it. The crowds are now basically nothing but childlike adults who never grew up. That guy who molested Florentine was born a generation too early.

I remember Hacksaw Duggan and Iron Sheik got arrested together for having coke on them and McMahon was more upset they were driving together since they were “enemies” on tv and ruined the storyline and not that they were traveling with illegal drugs. Same with million dollar man - they would give him more money on hand so he could “be” the character in public. Now they call Triple H by his real name and thank Bruce Pritchard.

I’m surprised at how heavy they were with advertising at wrestlemania which I guess is how they are now / moving forward. They always had sponsors but it was like NASCAR with how many logos they had around the ring. I’m surprised Vince didn’t do that but maybe that’s some of the “we don’t do that” type mentality of the business.

I remember Brian Pillman called Kevin Sullivan “Booker Man” on tv (since he was the head Booker of the matches) and that was like all kinds of serious at the time to the “credibility” of the business.

I'm the only one not abusing the gesture and choosing cheap pints - not shitting on my mates, but I felt weird about it - and then the guy buys me the clubs most expensive drink and hands it to me. He asks if I like it, I said I do, and he tells me to "Order as many as you want tonight". I told the guy "Do you have any idea how much this even costs?" He laughed and said "It's my Father's money, the fuck do I care!"

That's Tony Khan, a wanker born into money and no appreciation for how to use it.

Tony Khan is like someone with Ted Turner’s checkbook but hired Dave Metzler to run the company. He has no idea of how the business works but thought just being a spaz wrestling fan was enough. All his wrestlers are exactly the same but there’s nothing that makes them stand out or have interesting gimmicks. How many times can he claim to have a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT before he realizes his announcement is not major and not getting people to watch? Everyone you mentioned at least understands the business - Khan is just a wrestling fan and has zero knowledge of the business and how it works.

It really is run like Meltzer is in charge with his 5 star bull shit. He doesn’t understand why people watch wrestling and follow it - he looks at is a sport. It’s like being a fan of movies but not understanding how they’re made and how people that do know how it works like at it differently.
