Zombie is okay but I never got the big love for it. I think it's just too overproduced or the guitars are too heavy or something. "Everybody Else.." seems like it had a lot of time/thought put into it, the rest of the shit just seems cranked out to me. Let me know if it turns out I'm being an Opie on this one.

J'adore Hope as well. Were I capable of romantic & sexual love for a woman, she would be my bias. And I don't want kids either, but again if I ended up with a daughter by some unplanned nonsense then one of her names would have to be Hope in honour of how much I've loved all her music, with The Warm Inventions, Going Home and with Mazzy Star.

Her voice is unreal, delicate and mystically feminine, like an angel, but also dark and deep and wise, even a bit forbidding. It's the coldest iciest dream-pop and blues blended with warm LA Paisley folk. It's music to sink into and listen with no other distractions, napping or nodding out.

And she's aesthetically beautiful too. Chicana/Mestizos seem either to turn out ethereal like her & young Vince Neil, or like old Vince Neil.



It irks me no end that no-one seems to notice nor scrutinise how Lana Del Rey nicks Hope's vocal stylings, Latina flavour and production effects. And I don't mind LDR and think her a talented contempo folk poet/writer, I just don't like her cribbing without credit, nor the fancult around her.
