He might have just paid someone to write the story.

Also, doesn't he claim to be a lawyer? Why, yes he does:

Before all that, I won the Writer of the Year award in the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos and even earlier won an award and prize money as the best graduating Literature student and was dubbed the Wole Soyinka of my secondary school.

Bookshelf: You studied law at the University of Lagos, and currently enrolled in the Nigerian Law School, Lagos campus, yet you write speculative fiction. What is your story?

...I managed to graduate...

It's so weird that he doesn't write like someone with a law degree from one of the best universities in an English-speaking country!

Also, this other interview's kind of a burn against Nigeria:
Another side effect is that your reading is lopsided. You couldn’t really choose. They’re secondhand bookstores, so there’s no order, just huge bags of books. You just dip your hand in the bag, and you get whatever comes out. You get to read book five in a series, and that might be the first one you read, and the second book you read might be number 13, and the next book you find might be volume one. But we managed to put them all together.
I spent hours in second-hand bookstores as a kid, and more as an adult; and I've never seen one that wasn't in some kind of order. The fuck is the shopkeeper doing all day? Even Pat organises his books by colour, and he's a piece of shit.

I have been to book stores that have a kind of messy pile of old books, usually for like 10c or something essentially free, but people don’t just blindly grab one without looking at what it actually is.
