I do remember this fairly well. He was really going off on Alison, and not in a "fun" way like when he used to badger her for blowjobs and anal. There was a real nastiness to it. At the time, it seemed kind of ominous.

I just remembered something else. The marketing budget for the movie was massive, they had advertisements on basically every top rated cable or network show, and a fucking Super Bowl ad. It was ridiculous. But one thing is that there was some separate budget for swag and apparel that was branded with Private Parts that was either supposed to be sold to fans or given away as promotion but for some reason was withheld. So somewhere in a dump, or donated to Somalia, there were a few million dollars of Private Parts t-shirts, hats, and other swag merchandise and crap that never saw the light of day.
Stern bought a stripper and prostitute, from the nightclub Scores, a Mercedes Benz convertible, and she bragged about it to the other girls in the club who then leaked it to the press. Stern just ignored it and a week later 9/11 happened so no one mentioned it again. That was never really brought up again and if callers ever mentioned it, it was dumped out. That was one of those things that comics wouldn't roast Howard about either.
There are a few things with Beth that people suspect. One is that she was an escort or a model that could be rented out for dates like arm candy. Maybe not like a hooker, but a girl who would appear at a dinner function for a guy who needed a date, and she would be available for a few hours and sex was off the table (unless she did it on the side). And that is actually how Stern met her. Where they were at a party that she was working and a guy passed her to Howard. Howard claimed she was a model and 'regular' on Letterman but her known work doesn't really seem to support her living in or around NYC without some other source of income (maybe her criminal dentist father pitched in or something).
There was that promo for the soundtrack. Out of all the CDs they made one gold. If you got the gold one you won something like $100k or something.
He teamed out Richard and Sal for selling t shirts and autographed pictures and said it reflected poorly on them. “I never did those shitty money making schemes because I had integrity.” Okay well your entire staff has to do appearances and hawk shitty merchandise to make ends meet because you’re a greed Jew bastard *Jackie puppet laugh*
I always wondered how the staff would keep their mouth shut when Howard would say things like, "Lucasfilm doesn't pay their people well at all...." I was listening and could hear a pin drop in Howard's studio.
It was bullshit anyway, as he had no problem with selling those VHS tapes he made, which were just a shitty as anything Jackie ever cranked out. He used to tell his listeners to buy two, one to watch, and one to save as a valuable collectible. Crucified By The FCC, US Open Sores, Underpants And Lingerie Party, Butt Bongo Fiesta, New Year's Rotten Eve, they were all shit, just low-budget junky crap he tossed together. Same with his two shitty books, both of which were pretty much garbage.
Billy, John, and Jackie did one podcast together where John said that Howard refused to get involved on anyone’s behalf during contract negotiations but “knew where every penny went.” He wanted Billy to work on the E show for less than scale which basically meant he’d be a scab in his own union. He was also shitting on Sal for buying new teeth and didn’t see the irony in telling him that Sal couldn’t afford it but Howard could.
No doubt if Beth was still starting out, her IG would have roses on her profile. (basically saying she is a rented whore).
I honestly go back and forth between Howard being a closeted fag or a creepy heterosexual sex pest. I can’t remember who said it but on Stern they said the tabloids only ever reported on him and Beth. His response was “errr uhh they probably were respecting our privacy.” I think he’s a homosexual but it was bad for business. Now he should just come out and maybe he can have some relevancy again.
