John was also motivated to score a recording contract through his Stern connections during his KROCK years. He would routinely mock Fred Norris and others for not landing a gig. And would brag about his "tens of thousands of sales" and top hits. And how his band was 'huge'. It went nowhere. John probably blew all of this money.

He hustled enough to host a show on KROCK, which doubled his salary, was then fired on air by Chuck Roast a year later, proceeded to have a meltdown on air including cursing several times that had to be dumped, and was almost fired from KROCK entirely. He called Chuck Roast something like a "cross eyed faggot" on air and nearly lost his full job. John would eventually quit KROCK before Stern's Sirius movie to go work for NBC. When John moved to California he purchased multiple homes and flipped some properties according to Artie.

John would hustle his Stern gig into being in a dozen movies and TV shows including I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. The latter getting him into an appearance on Leno where he'd eventually be recruited into being the announcer, then writer, then fired. John wouldn't last more than a few years at NBC before Leno and the Tonight Show tossed him out like garbage. John was getting paid millions per year at first but seems to be completely flat broke now.

John also was slumlord during his Stern years and would regularly flip houses and trade insider deals with stocks using Stern's phones. John was so stupid he didn't get that the phone lines at KROCK are recorded every day, and can be instantly put on live air as well, and that they had hours of him doing insider trading with stocks. John was a king getting stock tips through the phones to the point where everyone in the office, especially Gary, would use his insider trading tips to make money. But it seems like John lost all of that money (and rumor is that Gary downscaled his living considerably as well though he's not divorced which is usually why it happens).

That was right before he had a kid and I think he had a lapse in his health insurance too because of that.

Leno kept John until he retired in 2014. He stayed on as a writer when they moved to a different time slot. John is without a doubt broke nowadays. He lived in Calabasas and was probably wrecked by that divorce.

that cause you're poor. I'm on car 1 of my eventual garage of 6-12. It's great. I've watched his youtube show a bit, you would have to be gay to not want a garage like that.

I’m not poor but you’re wrong, every time I’ve wanted an expensive “thing” and got it, it doesn’t do anything for me. It never does.

I used to have two cars, a daily and a “fun” sporty one, the amount of endless bullshit maintaining it, and paying for both was never worth it, ever.

Guitars, audio equipment, warhammer, gaming set ups, nothing ever fills a void. For me, anyway.

I'm familiar with that venue- seen a couple shows there. It's an annoying hour+ drive east of Pittsburgh out past the suburbs into BFE. Think the town was mostly originally a rail stop and not much else.

You either stay there or bite the drive in from the Pgh eastern suburbs- and the hotels there are gonna be just as shitty. There's a bunch of bars/restaurants near the venue.
