I like how he can never just say, "checked out a jazz club". It's always about these fictional friends who he never mentioned before and never after. For someone who only leaves the house to go to the bar and whose entire life revolves around Twitter, he sure wants you to think that he had this eclectic network of friends.

I was going to say exactly the same thing. Pat never just does something for the fun of it. It always has to involve one of his thousands of previously unmentioned very close friends who will immediately return to never being mentioned again.
