Ridiculous take. By the time Anthony was fired satellite radio was already dead and they were easily a decade removed from their prime. Their real chance to make insane money would have been to fill the Howard void on terrestrial radio after he left for obscurity on satellite.

Wrong. Their real chance would have bee signing Rogan and Burr to their channel and owning their own production company for radio shows. Imagine if O&A Productions signed the deal with Spotify to bring Rogan, Burr, Bobby, and even stupid garbage like the Chip Chipperson Show to people. They could have their own corner of the entire comedy landscape through easy to make podcasts including the largest one, Rogan's being their primary show.
They could have produced every major comedy podcast and had their own network if they had some initiative. Stern could have done this as well. They tried to sign Rogan and Sirius rejected it. Sirius also told them not to make the O&A podcast so that company was ran by idiots. O&A easily could have their own network if top comedians but Anthony is an old drunk incapable of anything and Opie seems delusional and completely checked out of reality.

The thing with Opie is that he may be good at running a show but he’s not good at running a podcast network. He knows this and smartly strays away from being some business magnate like Anthony. Anthony wouldn’t have gotten CM started if he didn’t have people more motivated than him running the show. If they were going to start their own podcast, and network, they would 100% have to have some KtC level goon running the business end of it. They were already checked out of their own show by the end and even the idea of becoming 20x more famous and richer than they were wouldn’t be enough to get them motivated to build up people like Rogan, Bobby, Burr, etc.
There is a very real universe where Ant never gets fired in 2014 and the contract ends there. The two do or don’t reconcile their differences but are still motivated to do a show and grow bigger. They start the O&A podcast bringing 90% of their SXM fans with them (as opposed to only the 30% that went to CM). They market the shit out of it which is easy: Just put episodes for free on Youtube or maybe once a week. As more people find you and you build your audience they hire Rogan, Burr and Bobby to do podcasts under their umbrella. Then once they decide they cant stand each other anymore they sell off the network and their shows to another podcasting platform.

You’re making up a dream scenario where either of these idiots had the foresight to make a podcast network around 2008-2009, which simply wasn’t going to happen. They had no buzz, their star was significantly faded by the time Anthony started in on his Obama/Zimmerman/Guns routine.
