If I hear someone say that one more time I'm gonna lose it.

My problem with the bowl season, going back to the BCS days, has always been the long break between the conference championships and the playoff/title game.

After playing consistently every week for the whole season, Oregon suddenly had 3 and a half weeks off before getting humiliated by OSU. And I'm not making excuses for them, I don't like Oregon at all. But you can't tell me giving college kids a month off over the holiday break leads to a better product on the field. It happens all the time, these huge games are stinkers because one or both teams sleepwalk through their possessions and can't get into a rhythm.

They should get 2 weeks off, that's it. And I'm tired of this excuse that they're competing with the NFL on Saturdays, if anything it's the other way around - the networks have as much to do with the NFL having games on Saturdays this time of year as the League does. The networks can absolutely reschedule to feature college playoff games on Saturdays. They just chose not to.

I’m with you on the long break, it stinks. I think it dates back to them pretending to actually be in school, take final exams, etc.

I don’t see what the problem is having a game on Thursday and Friday nights, other than you somehow not knowing about it. The NFL is king, they’re going to have their games when they want and everyone else has to deal with it. I suppose they could have had the Orange Bowl Saturday at noon if they wanted. Is that better than Thursday prime time? I really don’t know.

This is how bowls have always been. Long before the BCS you'd go from Thanksgiving weekend until Jan 1st without playing.

Well I don't remember much before the BCS, but I imagine the games were still crap shoots. It stinks and I don't like it.

Yeah they were and you'd seldom get the best 2 teams playing each other in a bowl game. BCS was an ok system, 4 team playoff was best.

The consensus was OSU would slaughter Texas, but it's not playing out that way so far. OSU seems out of synch, and Texas is suffering from the dropsies. As much as I've always disliked the Longhorns, it'd be hilarious if they bounced OSU tonight.

They were right there at the end until Sark decided to get cute from the 1 yard line and gave the game away.

That sweep was fucking retarded. If you can't bully your way into the end zone from that close, you don't deserve to win. Reminded me of McDaniel in Miami, always with the faggoty misdirection screens on 3rd and 2. Pussy football.

They should have put in Arch Manning and spread them out, then quickly motioned to an under-center, tight package and just snuck it in. Try that 3 times in a row if you have to.
Worst case scenario is you don't get in and OSU has the ball on the goal line, instead of giving them another TD and ruining your shot at winning.

They went from one play away from tying it with momentum in your favor to being down 2 scores with a demoralized team in the blink of an eye.
Honestly if Ewers had any balls he should have audibled out of Sark's call and just ran it up the middle. I love Sark and think he's the best offensive mind in the sport but he got cute there and lost them the game.
