It’s a tough one man. You’re completely right but it also sucked when a game was lost on a call that everyone knew was wrong.

They just need to make it faster and there’s no reason that it shouldn’t be. The NFL is starting to do it right by having people in the booth looking at shit and calling the ref with the correction instead of having the ref go watch it himself. If you can’t tell the call is wrong within 2 or 3 views then let it stand and move on.
Yes, it all needs to be faster...way faster. Like seconds. By the time the ref picks up the ball, they should be in his earpiece. "He caught it, spot at 39". That tedious waiting and waiting, where they show the replay six times, it just wears on you. And it's especially frustrating when they obviously get it wrong anyway.

Especially Pat Tillman
Never met the man.
I feel like I saw way more illegal formation calls and men downfield this year than ever before or maybe it’s just the Ravens who kept doing that shit. After almost 40 years I still don’t know those formation rules.
I think the marked increase in pre-snap and procedural penalties across all levels of football is directly tied to how little training college players are getting within their programs these days. Colleges have stopped developing talent and teaching their players the fine points of the game. It's not hard for a QB to make sure he has 7 men on the line of scrimmage before starting his cadence - they just forget to. NFL teams aren't looking for prospects they can develop anymore, they expect players to be ready for the field. It's a sport-wide issue.

The number of times I've seen a college team fuckup a punt return this year is staggering. Like, they don't teach them special teams rules anymore.

There's also a lack of discipline and focus these kids have that leads to more offsides and unnecessary unsportsmanlike conduct calls, but that's not due to a lack of training or development, it's just immaturity.

It's a generation of kids who grew up playing Madden instead of watching games, and that includes a lot of the young coaches now in their 30s. They can draw up very complex and sophisticated schemes, but don't know the rulebook.

Nice prognosis, stupid.

I'll give them credit, I thought they'd at least beat OSU again and then get manhandled by Georgia. But in typical Ducks fashion, they failed to meet even my low expectations.

They've had some great teams over the years and are almost always fun to watch, but they are and have always been consummate front-runners.

Fuck they were always my favorite team to play with in every iteration of EA's NCAA Football franchise. But in real life the Ducks always lay eggs on the big stage.

Yeah they kinda got fucked with the seeding but that’s no excuse. Until Oregon wins a title it’s well deserved to call them out on the big stage. That ohio state reciever smith is already a stud.

I just hope they fight in the second half

I will also give them credit for finally wresting control of the PAC away from USC at the end of the 2000s. USC never recovered. The conference's biggest game of the year had been USC-ND for generations and now it's UO-WU, and neither of them are in the conference anymore.

You could argue the resurgence in Oregon football ultimately killed the PAC.

Penn State vs. Notre Dame could be a classic. I hope they beat GA tonight and make it happen.

Two communities that cover up for child rape fighting it out on the big stage!

Don't bring your kids to this one.
