It's been like this for a decade. It's ruined the viewing experience. You can't enjoy any organic moments of joy or surprise because every big play is immediately reviewed for 5 mins. You're constantly second-guessing if the amazing thing you just watched will even count.
It’s a tough one man. You’re completely right but it also sucked when a game was lost on a call that everyone knew was wrong.

They just need to make it faster and there’s no reason that it shouldn’t be. The NFL is starting to do it right by having people in the booth looking at shit and calling the ref with the correction instead of having the ref go watch it himself. If you can’t tell the call is wrong within 2 or 3 views then let it stand and move on.

The NFL just makes all of their problems worse, it's been like this ever since Goodell took over. They've made the rules now so specific that it's like you need a lawyer to translate the language of a lot of them. What the fuck is a "football move?" It's made the difference between something simple we should all be able to tell with our own eyes - like the difference between a catch or non-catch - so fucking convoluted that no one actually understands what's going on. It seems like every year they focus on a new rule and it comes up over and over throughout the season. The current issues du jour are targeting and illegal hands to the face. There has to be room for interpretation between intentional "targeting" - which the term targeting itself implies, that it was intentional - and accidental head to head contact. But they want to remove as much interpretation from the rulings as they can, which effectively neuters the referees and makes them irrelevant. If the eye in the sky watching the game from their NY office is going to make the call anyway, why do we need refs? We could get by with one ref just to place the ball, maintain order on the field, and communicate the league's ruling to the players and coaches.

It's just all so tedious.

I feel like I saw way more illegal formation calls and men downfield this year than ever before or maybe it’s just the Ravens who kept doing that shit. After almost 40 years I still don’t know those formation rules.
