When everything is CGI the cinematography is not in fact "heavier and more expansive" whatever that means. Also the atmosphere of the first movie is good because not only do the characters not know what's going on, neither does the audience thus putting it in Arnold and Apollo Creed's shoes. But by this point we know what's going on so it's no different than Friday the 13th Part 11: Jason Cleans out the Warsaw Ghetto. Why bother I know he hasn't seen it and he's just pandering for likes.

Prey was so fucking boring I barely remember it despite just having watched it over the weekend. It would have been better if they followed the original movie more closely and casted some jacked American Indian dude in the main role. I don't even know what he means by depth. A girl wants to hunt and is good at it but gets denied because she's a hole, then her brother and clan recognize in the end she's actually a tough warrior or whatever, that's his depth?

Everyday he finds a way to enrage me more. Mainsteam movies are objectively worse than they were back then and I don’t like a lot of 80s cinema.

Prey wasn’t bad, but it lacked the visceral action of Predator. There was some great cinematography in Prey, I thought the concept was neat and the actors all were good. But I wanted more blood, more bone crunching, more really hard hits. I’m not even clear on why Prey was rated R
