It really makes me laugh Serch - who doesn’t shut up about being from New York- thought he could have some successful “hip hop brunch” in Tampa FL. There’s a reason why brunch places don’t advertise playing late 80s / early 90s hip hop because who the fuck wants that crowd? Its people mid 40s - 50 age and those types grew out of that shit years ago. It’s barely a crowd! He seems to be stuck in the time period of 1987-1992 and thinks that shit is still huge.
Maybe if the place has a pool and was more a beach type place MAYBE you could do something like this but you gotta try to get late 20s to early 40s crowd and play the music that was big when those crowds were young. Play off the “classic” or “grown up” fans of 90s to 2000s pop rap hits but not a YO YO YO NEW YORK WHAT UP?!?! And only playing deep track late 80s / 90s NYC rap stuff that was NEVER that big type event. Serch, you’re IN THE DIRTY SOUTH! Most of the stuff he had them play probably never even made it down there.
I lived in central Florida for years and while people have moved there from NYC it’s not the obnoxious old wigger types who don’t shut the fuck up that they’re from New York. Nobody gives a shit that you’re from New York in Tampa FL and they don’t care about your one hit 30 years ago in 3rd Bass.
