Maybe little bro is keeping up on his end of the pact?

I think Warren's odds of turning into a functioning adult are pretty good. Say what you want about Dawn and Patrick - at the end of the day, they're trying to be good parents and raise their kid right. My only concern would be the white trash Myrtle Beach (and NY transplants to South Carolina that are transitioning to white trash) either bullying the shit out of him or being a bad influence in general. But there are no guaranteed outcomes with kids, and Dawn and Patrick seem to have a handle on the few things they can control.

As for Layla? I'm not so optimistic for reasons that are pretty obvious. Long Island public schools aren't bad in the sense that they have enough resources and educational opportunities for most kids, so if she's self-discinpled enough, she can stay on the straight and narrow and turn out fund. I doubt Blow Joe has been putting his baby bro's money into a 529, so if she wants to pursue something post-secondary, she could maybe join the military (ideally the Navy or Chair Force), and unlike her father, take advantage of things like the GI Bill that can set her up for some success. But that's all a big "if."

You don’t think Joseph Cumia is invested in his kid’s education?

Out the first day means he just lost his $500 buy in and any money he took out to keep himself alive. Bragging about being the chip leader or having 300k in chips seems like he's trying to lie to his fans or is just too stupid to know what he is doing. He would have had a better day if he spent $500 on blackjack or slots using one of those old lady member cards to count up his points. A good day of blackjack you can accumulate enough points for a free meal with $500.

I won't claim to be an expert but in these large tournaments, it is not that hard to slowly increase your stack. The blinds start low and there are a lot of idiots and reckless players who will bet really bad hands. You can lay low and just play good cards, and even then you can pick your spots to slow play if you land something on the flop. You don't have to bluff or do anything stupid to force the action. Obviously you still run the risk of a bad beat but if you play tight/smart it's not too difficult to move up and last. I assume Joe due to experience is only playing good cards and letting the dumber/more reckless/inexperienced players knock each other out.
My understanding is that TAG (tight aggressive) is generally the standard meta day one of a tournament due to noobs . Unless you want to blow up like hellmuth, first day dummies are going to play all kinds of retarded moves. In the same way a chess GM can lose to an amateur because they are going too deep into the meta, you don't want to overthink it when the other person.

Whats the point of pot sizing to build a narrative that you missed your flush when you're setting a trap as you really hit a fullhouse....when the other person is just playing level one and looking at their cards. they are not analyzing your pot sizes anyway, or the narrative you've built so why even do any of that.

Which brings up a question i've always had. I'm mostly a dilettante when it comes to holdem, but I'm interested in the math, because im a faggot nerd. I've played a bit, but never seriously.

How do retards with no understanding of the combinatorics even play? Joe is not calculating EV+ meta. He's not calculating outs. He's not analyzing and memorizing preflop math, which like chess in the openings, is "solved" in that there's a much lower cardinality of options to memorize. This isn't extremely complex math, its freshman level undergrad at most, but that's way above joe's pay grade. He's likely not pot sizing properly.

Do people like him just go by some sort of combination of intuition and gamblers fallacy. "There hasn't been a flush in a while, so i' m going to bet hard into this flush draw here".

i'm guessing Joe's sheer bovine arrogance could get him through the first day.

Dunno about faggot Warren but I think it’s safe to assume that if Layla was a fuck up we would hear about it. Joe would be blaming Biden, the LIBTARDS, and the public school system for his daughter being a piece of shit.

I bet she’s a quiet nerdy kid who studies hard and volunteers after school with the drama program. Probably does everything possible to avoid going home

Right. This is the way I've always done it (I haven't in a very long time, no interest anymore). Occasionally you will suck out but if you stick to your plan and don't fall in love with your cards, you can outlast a lot of the inexperienced players and the ones who will get bored and just start throwing chips around. Just via probability, you'll hit a few hands and build your stack.

Apparently I overestimated BroJoe if he got knocked out on Day 1. Would love to know how it happened, whether he got bled to death or he recklessly threw his money around on a few big hands. I'm sure his narrative will be that he played well and had bad beats but I bet the reality is he's a moron with too much confidence in himself.

Joe doesn't know the math. He'd just mean the colloquial usage of bad beat anyway. usually people mean something like you had 60/40 or 70/30% on the river. There's a real usage and at minimum i've seen it with full aces over kings and then anything above. Most is limited to quads. Bortgata is quads 10+

Lose any Qualifying Pot with quad tens or better and you’ll take home 40% of the jackpot. Winning hand gets 20% and 40% goes to remaining players dealt into the hand.

CURRENT BAD BEAT JACKPOT

QUAD 10+ - $50,000

just based on that borgata is a bunch of assholes. Imagine a bad beat of quad 9s over quad8s and it doesn't hit. At least give all quads and higher... I guess they play so many games 10 is the inflection point where the casino makes/loses money.
