I bought a PS5 for some reason-are there any good games?

I think God of War for PS4 is really a good one to start with. To me it had the right balance of old school 'flow' and game play with modern graphics.

Haven't played Ragnarok so I can't vouch for that.

Will also vouch for Ratchet and Clank -- amazing graphics and it shows off the controller pretty well. But it gets repetitive and boring a few hours in.
Ratchet and Clank was my favorite series on PS2. That’s definitely on my list. I never cared for God of War very much because I don’t like fighting games like that where you just go one vs a million people.

I never liked God of War I or II. God of War 3 was pretty cool, but it was still as you described.

PS4 God of War is 3rd person on the ground, not overhead, and you feel really powerful. If you get PS+ I think it's on there and you should at least try it out for an hour. It's very different from the other games.

I only ever played the one on the PS3 so I don’t go very deep with it.

It also comes with a free game called Astros Playroom or whatever and it's a platformer that goes through all the gens of the Playstation and shows off the new graphics and the dualsense. Play that first IMO. It's really cool, a super easy platinum and really fun. It shows off all the new features on the Dualsense too which is by far the best controller out these days.

FYI its nothing like those games. It only follows the base story of them but then goes in a completely different direction and is now a third person game with great combat. It's a must play imo. It's like The Last of Us but with better combat and a crazy norse/greek mythos story.

Edit:

If you're a big fan also play the Ratchet and Clank remake before Rift Apart. They updated it for PS5 so it runs silky smooth and runs at 4k. Honestly make sure you get PS+ b/c you get a bunch of free games that you won't have to buy you can just play them and beat them and I know games like Ratchet, Uncharted, God of War, Horizon and other games are on there for free (or were). There are different tiers but ther base tier had a ton of great games. The more expensive the tier, the more backwards compatible stuff you get.
