I think I'm actually enjoying this now. Not looking forward to the time jump in a few weeks, but hopefully it won't be a total debacle. The best approach, at least for me, is to not get overly invested or think very hard about it. On that level, it's pretty entertaining. Paddy Considine is PFG. It's not the greatest thing to ever air, but it's a pleasant surprise after the dismal 7th and 8th seasons of GOT. You can tell that Martin is pretty involved in this, and it helps. Now finish the books you fat faggot.

How can anyone like this show?
There's not a single likable character.
I don't even like the cinematography... It looks like a DC movie.

Is this supposed to go longer than one season? I read the book and don't see how they could stretch it out beyond 2 seasons at best.

The Shield? Oz? Sopranos? Godfather? Boardwalk Empire? Pretty much everyone was a living piece of dog excrement in those stories. Characters do not have to be likeable. They just need to be compelling. Pretty much the list of "best shows or movies of all time" are filled with stories where the protagonists are entirely immoral and psychotic. Like who exactly am I supposed to like in Goodfellas or Casino? Yet I can watch them a million times over.

Pretty much every production uses the same cameras and same software. Almost every show on TV uses some awful filter as well. Like Breaking Bad with its weird color tone. Or Ozark where every single scene is practically blinding blue or white light. This is their lazy way of being "unique" but the effort is so low is just looks flat, dull, and uninspired.

The way that things like Sopranos, Shield, or Oz were shot makes them feel like their own universe. But this show still looks alright. You want garbage generic fantasy look at the LOTR show on Amazon. The only thing that this show does poorly are the wigs and outfits on the nigger characters. And the nigger actors are the worst on this show. You can tell that the other actors have no chemistry with them and cannot play their lines off of them.

Four or five seasons. Then more spinoffs. Then cartoons and movies. This franchise will get milked to death and bled dry.

I saw your name and expected a brutal takedown of every aspect of the show. Wasn't expecting this at all.

Anyway, after tonight's episode I think they might have pulled this show off. I'm in. It's not perfect, but it's far exceeded my expectations. Matt Smith and his goofy face are great. The goblin girl turned out to be a pretty solid actress. The 13%ers are the worst part of the show like @LingerLonger said, but they're at least tolerable. I still hate how it's lit. Olivia Cooke joining next week will give the show its first attractive woman too.

Have to say, I am looking forward to seeing the fan’s reaction when Emma D’Arcy’s character is eaten by her brother’s dragon. People get too attached to fake characters easily.

The closest this show will come to the red wedding will be the "sophie's choice" scene.

I'm liking it so far, much better than last two season of GoT. Wtf else is there to watch on tv/streaming?

Instantly spawning outrage that the only nonbinary actor gets killed. That's a good bit, tbphwy.
