One of the last funny things Howard Stern said was when he said she looked like Jonah Hill. Of course Howard had “evolved” and he had to beg for forgiveness and apologize like the worlds biggest bitch.Sad but true

Pirates use AI to stabilise and upscale camrips these days so they look and sound pretty good. That sounds very true considering it's only in theatres right now. Unless you showed your kid a fucking camrip.
I always like reading how older movies were either adaption a book, inspired by a book, or sometimes multiple movies are made from the same book just went in different directions.
Now everything has to be capeshit or an already established property. When that battleship movie came out and flopped which ruined many studios plans to do board game movies I thought we were done with that shit. But no, it’s 2023 and everything is still for the most part shit.
Yeah I’m not jumping on the OMG! ITS SO WOKE! LOOK AT ALL THE SHIT THEY SHOVED IN HERE! Like that dork Ben Shapiro has been doing (just when you thought he couldn’t embarrass himself anymore) but I just gather it’s a movie about a kids toy but it’s not made for kids which I’m sure many mothers took their young girls to see it only to have the humor / slight political messages go right over their heads. I only was annoyed with the movie because it really felt like you couldn’t get away from seeing ads for it, im pretty sure it was the most he’s only advertised movie of the year because pretty much EVERYONE knew about the Barbie movie. I’m also reading what makes it work is Ryan Gosling which I can believe since he’s a good actor. Another actor could have really shit the bed in that kind of role.I think the comic film wave is finally crashing. Give it another two years, you'll see it then. It won't be as prevalent, or looked at as so important. It'll be glorious.
You all are going to torch my ass for this, but here it goes: I did see Barbie with the crew a few days ago (it was for Gosia and Alicja, fucking sue me, awlroight?).
So, if you want to find politics in it, can you? Sure. But personally, I don't think it was trying to push as hard for that as most of these talking heads want it to seem like.
My view is that Noah Baumbach, who's work I like, and Greta Gerwig, who's a fairly talented lass, came up with a power-switch concept for the script, because... What else are you going to fucking do? It's a doll, you can't do much with that story-wise on the surface unless you really make shit up.
It works best when it's an air-head comedy. When it tries to act like there's a message, or Christ forbid, a lesson, it mostly drops the ball. I'm just looking to be entertained, and I somewhat was, if I'm being honest here.
But to make it a bigger deal than just being a mere movie? I think a lot of that is people looking for something to be pissed about. It's an amusing movie I'll never watch again but didn't hate, and nothing more. It'll be forgotten in three months and guys like Shapiro will look for another thing to grift on.

I want to believe the cape shit wave is close over as people have become exhausted by all of it (plus they’re running out of comic book characters to give tv / movies to) but I thought it was dying out almost 10 years ago
I think at this point Ferrell should stick to smaller / supporting parts. He was great on Eastbound and Down for an example.I can get the advertisement is annoying, but it's not a terrible way to spend two hours. Imagine classic Mel Brooks but if he was a woman - that's the vibe I got from it. It poked fun at consumerism like Blazing Saddles did with Westerns. It's no Blazing Saddles though.
And yeah, Gosling is the highlight of the whole thing. He should do more comedy, he has a natural timing. And actually, Will Ferrell wasn't bad either for what he had to do.
But to your last point - ten years ago actually was one of the first times my brother Steve and I discussed those kinds of films ending, and we were wrong. Then Spielberg said "It's going to die like the Western!" He was off by five years, but he's right ultimately. Everything cycles, this was just lucky enough to last fifteen years.
Eewww did they really call her that?I’m glad they stopped trying to shove her down our throats, they were even calling her “the voice of a generation” until she told everyone she sexually assaulted her little sister.
I think the big ones will remain; there will always be a spiderman and batman movie every few years. But for the most part, everything else (TV included) has tanked and it seems the days of the four hour long, multiple-part installment cgi fest movies are fading away, and I'm glad. The only catch is, I'm seeing other properties getting Marvelized: the quirky, snappy self aware dialogue and broad, dense storylines that amount to popcorn fodder.I can get the advertisement is annoying, but it's not a terrible way to spend two hours. The name itself has a copyright but I remember a horror movie called Witchboard from when I was a kid.Now that I think of it you’re right, I just remember they had been talking of a monopoly one for a while (I think Liam Neeson was attached) and Candy land since that would be for young kids
Agreed. I'm fine with a Spiderman and Batman movie every now and then as well. As long as they're not PC shit, you know, but that's a tough order these daysHeresch da thing, folksh - when they started out, the movies weren't all like that. And they're the ones I liked, specifically Winter Soldier and the first Thor. They were all different. Jon Favreau set a base template but the tones weren't exactly the same, and I kinda dug it.
The asswipe who started this bullshit was Joss Whedon and that godawful first Avengers movie. I don't think the tone he set was implemented immediately - hence why I do defend Winter Soldier - but it definitely became the norm going forward by the second Avengers, and by then, even though I never made them required viewing, I gave up going out of my way to watch them.
Spider-Man and Batman will continue, and SHOULD - they're interesting characters that can be mined for a lot if you hire the right people. Hell, even the X-men with it's allegory was something I enjoyed, despite the bollocks always piled on them.
The rest can Bon Scott themselves.
Yes, with a fucking camrip.Im not holding your hand through the process of getting movies that are still in theaters. ANYONE CAN DO IT!
There's a couple of Ouija movies out as well; apparently one of them (Ouija Origins, maybe?) is pretty good. The name itself has a copyright but I remember a horror movie called Witchboard from when I was a kid.

"Got?"It had less to do with the sister molestation and more to do with the fact that she got morbidly obese and ugly.
The whorehouse scene was brief. Also funny. I had forgotten he said Fuck the last time I watched it. It holds up though, where nobody will remember Barbie in a yearHaha whata faggot. I streamed it offline for my almost 12 yr old and she said it was terrible and hated it. She told me shes glad I didnt watch it with her because i would have been bored to death. We watched Beetlejuice the other day and its a surprisingly great kids movie. Idk if its rly a kids movie these days as he says Fuck and goes to a whorehouse, but it was a kids movie when i was a kid.
It couldn't be worse than their idea for Beetlejuice goes Hawaiiani watched it on loop as a kid despite not fully understanding every reference. rewatched it the other day for the first time in years & was surprised how much of the action only happens in the second half of the movie. i hope the sequel isn’t gay but not holding out hope there

Batman movies can die (get in the coffin ) if all they ever plan on doing is just rebooting the origin story, then recasting and starting over. It's completely uninteresting no matter how good the actor is. Batman begins was dogshit that pandered to idiots who need every question answered because they are so smooth brained they can't stand notj knowing explicitly where he got his car. I knew a guy who disliked Watchmen because he thought every one of them needed an origin movie "like the Avengers". I wanted to punch him in the fucking throatAgreed.
