Yeah a pump action is a good place to start. Over and unders are nice but since you have to adjust your aim depending on which barrel is firing it’s tough to get started. You should get back after it. It’s damn fun once you get the hang of it

You have to buy chlorine, acid, stabilizer, etc. and make sure the levels of each are balanced, otherwise you have green swamp water. You also need to run the pump everyday to ensure the water is moving around instead of being a breeding nest for critters. I'm not done yet, next, you need to clean it using manual labor like with a brush, or with an automated pool shark. And god forbid you get a crack and it starts leaking, it can be in the thousands of dollars to PROPERLY fix, not half-ass patch that will eventually fall apart. By the way, cracks are inevitable, so if you buy a house with a pool then it's only a matter of time. Have fun swimming jackass!
