Without Vancouver and Toronto, there would be no movies or television set in any city other than LA (as they are constantly a stand in for Chicago and New York).

Are they? That makes no sense. Yeah maybe they’re for Canadian TV shows set in LA they film in those cities but cmon. The New York example is especially egregious considering theres so many productions studios in NY…you’re telling me they all fly to Canada to shoot NY, the place they live in?

Also this isn’t the shining example of cultural relevancy. Once again if Canada stopped existing I think the producers of TV could live with shooting in some other gay cities in the US somewhere.

Check out any movie set in New York after like 1999. Establishing shots are done on location, but it's cheaper to fly everyone out and film in Toronto.
