To come back to the original point, I don't see why it's racist to suggest that people born in a place where conflict has been a more consistent part of daily life are more prone to violence. It's unreasonable to think that the mental aspects of humanity aren't just as malleable as the physical ones when rubbed against the grain of evolution. If your parents are prone to feeling threatened then so will you because you learn from them too. You wouldn't think twice of telling a Mexican or South American that they run a little hot sometimes, but try telling that to your African dishwasher and see how long it takes for the suits to arrive.
Look at South Africa, crime not just murder is out of control, homes are all behind cement walls and barbed wire. You're told not to walk around with your jewelry and phone exposed.
