WWAW Halloween movies?

That time of year again ... time to fire up some favorites!

What are some of your favorite, go-to movies for the Halloween season? Strangely, when it comes to the actual Halloween series, Halloween 3 - Season of the Witch is the only entry for which I hold any affinity.

Beyond that - Evil Dead 1&2, Dark Night of the Scarecrow, Creepshow 1&2, The Crow, Bubba Ho-Tep, Something Wicked This Way Comes ... what are some of your favorite Halloween movies?

The Crow and Pumpkinhead. I was that handsome faggot who dressed up as Eric Draven like five years in a row. I bought a leather trenchcoat and I had to get some use out of it.

I always watch House and a few of the classics like Rosemary's Baby and Alien.

My go-to classics are The Exorcist, The Amityville Horror, The Omen, The Shining, The Thing, and The Blair Witch Project. I can also re-watch Paranormal Activity, The Conjuring, and The VVitch.

The Blair Witch is the only horror movie that scared the shit out of me. I love it.

Creepshow 2. I hear Trick or Treat is a good anthology. Scream and Final Destination arent bad for trendy "scary movies" from that era. I Saw the Devil and Ichi the Killer, Train to Busan are good foreign movies. Nightmare on Elm St 3 and Friday the 13th part4 are all you need to see if you had to watch one.

I always watch House and a few of the classics like Rosemary's Baby and Ali

House 1&2 are fawking great. I have House 3&4 but have never gotten around to watching them yet.

Halloween 1&2. I also like 4 for the scene where Loomis confronts Michael at the empty gas station. That scene always creeped me out.

H20 is also underrated and better than the current series.

One of my favorite pastimes is seeing some godawful horror movie in theaters and just laughing at its awfulness

Plenty of the ones I like have been mentioned. The Shining and The Thing are two of my fav movies. Evil Dead trilogy, Halloween 1, Nightmare on Elm Street. They Live.

Trick R Treat isn’t a great movie but I enjoy it. The stories tie together somewhat and it takes place on Halloween night. Kind of campy for modern standards but it’s fun.

I like the movie Spirited Away during Halloween season with the bizarre characters, witches and what not.

Invasion of the Bodysnatchers (1956 version) is great. Holds up very well for it’s era of horror.

Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead are both fun.

Eyes Wide Shut is solid for the season.

And Then There Were None (1945) is not at all scary but it’s a good murder mystery that kids can watch.

Shutter Island is good. Not generally a fan of Leo but I liked it.

Live and Let Die is a Halloween-adjacent Bond movie if you wanna stretch it that far.

Rope (1948) is a solid one. Not very scary but the plot is creepy.

I am not a Will Smith fan, but the first half of I Am
Legend is pretty great. They did just Bout everything wrong after he strings himself up accidentally, but I genuinely loved the movie until that point.

Train to Busan is a great zombie movie.

Young Frankenstein is great if you want straight comedy.

And for classic horror fare, Black Christmas is underrated. Hilarious and predictable mostly but basically every slasher stole from it since then.

Halloween 3. It's pretty stupid, but the core of the movie makes it the best Halloween movie in the franchise. It's just an Irish pagan who wants to kill kids because that's how they used to do it in the old days. That's way better than any mindless slasher.

This one was like Silence of the Lambs, but way better.

I always thought Silence of the Lambs was was over rated and had the same feel of a X-files ep.

28 Days Later is one of the better zombie movies.

I just recently rewatched the Devils Rejects. It’s hacky at some points but it was enjoyable and creeped me out a good bit.
