America where a great band, just as good as the other big acts at the time, but never really got the recognition they deserved.

All their albums up until the mid 80's are solid....I spent many a fine afternoon getting high listening to them.

Criminally underrated. There were still a few of his former teachers tenured at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, when I attended many years after Buckley’s death and they would visibly tear up when I’d ask about him. Also had an uneventful chat with his former drummer, Matt Johnson outside the Baked Potato jazz club a few years ago while I was doing blow with Chris Poland of Megadeth in his sprinter van, hehe. The same stage where Megadeth drummer Nick Menza, would die on 3 years later. What a trip LA is sometimes.

Damn that’s crazy. Did you get any insight from Matt? He’s the only one from Jeff’s band that bailed before they went to Memphis to record what would become Sketches…
