People are always going to believe in some fantasy. It’s much better when the fantasy is accompanied by generally good advice on how to live your life.All of those religious people who said the decline of religion would lead to a complete loss of moral standards got belittled and attacked for years. Snarky late night chat shows doing they’re “little man in the sky” shit.
Turns out they were 100% right.
If these people were pure hedonists who just wanted to live pointless, superficial lives I could 100% relate and get behind it..as that’s more or less what I do. But wanting to force others to live in their world is no different than some disgusting Muslim troglodyte force converting people.
Our society is a much better place when it follows general Greco-Roman-Christian values. I personally have no time for religion but it would be a crime against the subject of history to claim otherwise.
