Why do non religious homosexuals like Patrick get married and make it such a pillar of their personality?

Marriage is a religious tradition. Marriage is a gift from God, one that should not be taken for granted. It is the right atmosphere to build a family.

Marriage involves spiritual, emotional, and physical closeness. In the Old Testament, we are taught, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24). Married couples are meant to be unified in every possible way.

It’s a life time contract, for better or worse, in richness and poorness, in sickness and in health. Atheists like Patrick getting married in churches and then virtue signalling about “muh religion is evil” online make me sick. Men like Patrick who get divorced and remarry immediately and abandon their daughters and family make me sick.

Women who leave marriages and take half the money they didn’t earn because of vague “he changed” attitudes make me sick.

Patrick making his marriage ceremony around back to the future and wearing converse make me sick. Gay people getting married under the eyes of a God they don’t believe in and who hates them make me sick.

I don't understand it either, although to be fair, his second better wedding was not in a church. It was in a hipster coffee shop attic and a lesbian that looked like Edward Furlong from Terminator 2 was the officiant.

This was because of their poverty, not because they didn’t want a traditional expensive wedding.
“Hey baby, I love you so much let’s get the government involved.” Stanhope
I don’t understand it unless you’re religious. I’m all for gay marriage though. Who gives a shit.

I used to agree about the gays but all those tea party Bible Belt guys were right that it would open the door to complete degeneracy.

Because himself, like most losers in life, suffer one fear: the fear of dying alone. And the psychological weight of a marriage is their way to ensure that they don't.

People like Patrick are hardcore introverts, they have difficulty connecting to people and they're never the life of the party, so connections are a struggle. When they do manage to forge a connection with someone, no matter how minimal or tenuous, they tend to overcompensate, and often in their mind it's the best they're going to get. So how do you ensure that person sticks around? You add the difficulty of the government getting involved and you marry them, even if it's deep down not what you want. Hell, even if they do it just because they know they can control you.

Ferris Bueller said it best in relation to Cameron, another born loser: "He's gonna marry the first girl he lays, and she's gonna treat him like shit, because she will have given him what he has built up in his mind as the end-all, be-all of human existence. She won't respect him, 'cause you can't respect somebody who kisses your ass. It just doesn't work."

I think what I'm saying here long windedly is it's because he's fat.

You know, nobacon, sometimes i just wonder if you get off on the emotional tension that quoting scripture on a dedicated cyberstalker sub forum creates.
You come and eat admin’s ribs when he’s not here.
You know pat isn’t religious, he sees the eucharist as a way for priests to convince little timmy of trying their “snickers bars”

“Do not be bound together with unbelievers,” says Paul in 2 Corinthians 6:14, “for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?”

According to Psalms 14 and 53 the man who says there is no God is corrupt, is a liar, and never does good. Are you such a man @Potatopeeler63?

Marriage is a secular institution with tax incentives attached.

>the overton window moved so much the past decade he’s unironically quoting jewbertarian talking points

Sure, marriage was created by the church in the dark ages to promote monogamy to stop the spread of syphillis, but now it’s a secular institution so fags can visit each other in the hospital because of red tape lobbied in by (((insurance companies))
It’s not a pillar of post monarchical society, Stanhope said it’s just a contract!!!

Hey buddy, cool it with the anti semitism. The Jews never did anything negative in all of recorded history and to suggest otherwise means you are a Nazi, sweetie.

It’s a good thing 2% of our population controls more than 50% of it’s wealth, and that they control all positions of power in government, media, banking, finance and news. That’s called DIVERSITY buddy! It’s illegal to boycott Israel in 35 states and it’s a a good thing American tax payers fund Israeli foreign policy globally.

What are you, a conspiracy theorist who thinks this is intentional? Welp!

Why do atheists get married anyway? They need the government to get involved in their relationship?!

I've heard people say shit about hospital visits... what?! I've got a 'living will' which spells-out what meds they can use, when they can intubate/extubate, who can definitely visit, etc.

Unless people believe in it on some spiritual level they're either retarded or showboating.

Oh yeah; tax reasons... just be partners in a limited company.

“I don’t read religious nonsense, it’s not thousands of years of intense divine wisdom condensed into beautiful verses and metaphors, I haven’t read any but I will condescend you for believing in a burning bush. Welp. I read reasonable and logical books by elderly English poofters who study crabs and make grand assumptions about everything based on them”

Despite their religious contrarianism, they still do everything society tells them. For all their "free thinking" they'll still wear masks, get the clot shot, consume, and get married even though it has nothing to do with them because it's what you're "supposed" to do.

Every teenager has a phase where they stop believing in God or have questions, sure. The thing though is that you're supposed to grow up and out of that and realize that this stuff has been around for thousands of years for lots of good reasons.
