I have no debt, nothing, no student debt or anything. I make more than the average family income and live on my own, I’ve got about 30k put away in savings. I have paid into my retirement plan at an okay rate since I was 26.

I’m not being fatalist or defeatist, I’m just saying it’s not a good situation. It can change, I’m not nihilist.

Most Americans, like the rest of humanity, is going to have some rough elder years. Take comfort in the fact you won't be one of them if you stick to what you have been doing.

I’m happy with where I’m at, I really am - I sacrificed most of my 20s to nothing but education and work. I really did nothing but try and improve my situation (frat boy shared living and bad jobs) and I’m happy with how it turned out. My doomsday posting isn’t about that, it’s the wider picture.

All of my life they told me we shouldn’t have kids because it’s too harmful and all the smarty pants people parroted it all, now they’re saying we need open borders because we aren’t having kids. All of the commercials are black men and white women, unless it’s about assisted dying policy then it’s just white men.
