No I have a 2nd house I'm fixing up to eventually live in. The place she's at now could burn half way down and the owner might not care since he lucked out of finding her to pay for this ripoff

She apparently had a conversation with the guy about putting the dog down a year before she met me since he knew he's able to and giving the dog away to him didn't work, so it's not a new idea. She told me she didn't want to bring it up to me cause of what I'd think of her, but she is right in saying she had no life for years since no one can visit her be it friends or family.
A dog shouldn't be an overall detriment to your life, sure he's lovable when alone but a human living a real life trumps that

I honestly believe that certain breeds of dogs should not exist. Pitbulls because even the nicest and best trained ones are prone to snapping as they get older and their mind decays. And Bulldogs because they were bred without any consideration for the dogs well-being in mind. I don't really care about this womans dog. But she seems like she may be using you to do the things that she's unwilling to do for herself. A lot of veterinarians will put that dog down for like $200, without cremation or burial, and you won't have the label of dog killer on your soul. But if that dog is wicked, God is aight with it

That's what I'm thinking too. My buddy's ex had this jacked, mailbox-headed pitbull she had to get rid of because it was aggressive. The things are outlawed here and she still managed to find a rescue to take him in. At first I was positive that she got tricked into giving it to a dog fighting ring but we looked it up and it's a legit organization.

Having said that, I have a lot of family and know a bunch of farmers who just shoot their dogs if they need to be put down. I couldn't do it, but it's more common than a lot of people would think. It's usually them tearfully Ol' Yeller-ing their beloved pets but I've heard of dogs that were causing problems getting shot whether they belonged to the farm or a neighbour.

I've never heard of this happening recently but some oldschool hicks would just shoot their hunting dogs if they fucked up a hunt or wouldn't run deer or whatever. That's especially sad to me because those are usually the friendly dogs with no prey drive who should've been living with a family instead of in a pen outside. I remember my buddy's uncle yelling at us because we were in his hounds' pen petting them when we were little. "You guys are gonna fuck my dogs up!"

One of my uncles killed his dog with a hammer because it bit my sister. Just malleted it on the top of its head. Did it right in front of me. Fucked me up for a while; the sound more than anything, I had nightmares about it for months.

We took him to a vet for shots cause she's thinking she can take him to the kennel she works at and some days leave him at her grams house she'll be living at
But he practically shit his pants backing into a corner when we took him in the entrance (AFTER waiting outside for 20 mins until a room was open, his tail between his legs the entire time even with me trying to console him) there were just 2 puny dogs in the waiting room but he's ridiculously afraid of things, and when he can't back into a corner he decided to attack. Had a cloth muzzle on him and he still almost nipped the vets fingers off when he stupidly reached his hand out towards him (we did the shots outside)

And i gave him a chance earlier on at my grandmas lakehouse with my whole family. He wants to attack our dogs, and attack other people for no reason. Me and the gal left him inside with my mom and gram for 10 minutes and at one point he cornered my gram when she stood up to get some soda, he's retarded. Left him in the patio the entire weekend practically.

Poor guy is for some reason scared of everything. Sucks since I'm the only other human he's ever liked.
And GF lives in a shithole where the guy won't fix the furnace or roof and it's way too much money, that's why I'm saying to live with gram for a bit while I'm fixing up a house. We've only been together a few months so I don't want to rush us in together but without the dogs mayhem it'd be better.

Anyways, she's talking to a neighbor now who offered to put him down a year ago and who's done it with his own dogs or something before. We'll see how it goes

I worked in a kill shelter in my teens, putting an animal to sleep is not messy but is not peaceful, the animal will writhe in pain and yelp or meow in pain for a few seconds.
I eventually had to quit because it eventually gets to you. Pit bulls are the only animals that would not bother me but this was before they became a fad

Had opposite experience. Pit bulls were fine. Some smaller dogs and Chows (fucking hate them) were assholes. Never saw any gogs/cats cry in pain because they were given ketamine first and they were zooted out of their minds before the fatal blue- which took maybe 30 seconds at most.

I didn't put dogs down as I was the lost and found kennel manager and public liason. They offered me a raise to help out euthanizing the dogs/cats when they got too busy- hard pass and I quit not long after that because it was overall a depressing atmosphere/job.
