What's something embarrassing you have in common with Pat?

Real answer? I was more like him in my teens and early 20s than I care to admit. I was the kind of kid who just had to be the smartest guy in the room, had to be correct on any topic, head full of useless trivia, and when that wasn't enough I'd just make up lies about my life to sound smart and interesting. It wasn't until around 22, 23 that I started to admitting to myself that that kind of behavior was rooted in a a combination of ADHD underachiever syndrome and severe personal insecurity. Once I stopped lying to myself I became way more humble and gracious almost overnight. Started being more honest with friends about my own achievements/limitations, and treating others like people they had value and could teach me things, instead just expecting them to just stand in awe of how interesting my thoughts were.

I know I'm not the only one here who sees Patrick as a dark mirror of the lesser angels of their nature. The thing that really disturbs me, considering his age and how many self-inflicted L's he's taken, is the total lack of self-reflection about those traits. What a curse it would be to totally lack all capacity to grow and reflect as a human being.

I don’t find this embarrassing but it does make me angry with him, I love Triumph motorcycles and the Foo Fighters.
