My current job is the first one since moving here that I haven't wanted to kill everyone. Some of the people are still weird though but more friendly and sensible. Worked doing machining/maintenance for a plant as my first job in the valley and I have never seen so many pieces of shit in management. Thought it was just fostered toxicity from HR/Management, but their is this overall vibe when dealing with 80% of the people here. So many snakes. Weird cut throat people who will fuck you around for literally nothing to gain.
Central Pennsylvania in the mountains is referred to as pennsyltucky for a reason. You'd think you we r e in rural west virginia there.

There are areas of Appalachia where some people have never even come down off of the mountains they were born on. Very insular communities where people still say nigger in everyday conversation. It's heart warming but there's a lot of poverty, but not the really ghetto kind, just simple people living simple lives with few resources.

My one aspergergy genius friend lived there with his grandfather for a year in the middle of nowhere. Like hours from anything. He just mastered all kinds of stupid shit because he had nothing to do. Like you could think of any random party trick thing and he can probably do it. "Can you run up a wall and do a backflip?" "Can you eat fire?" "Can you throw a playing card through cardboard?" He'd be like "Yeah I figured it out at my grandpa's" and then do it.
I lived out in the middle of nowhere for years and did nothing with it.
