I can agree with you that there was an opening, I can even say I was interested to see what came about, but as far as I can tell every other supposedly viable replacement dropped the ball and showed themselves to be ineffective or at best not ready. It seems to me that because the elite in Russia and China seemingly lost their concern for long term thinking and limited their focus to personal enrichment, the elite in the west will be able to inflate away their international debt while maintaining the USD as the least "bad" option. (nothing is attractive or "good" imo)
You can say that it's all fake and anybody can use any currency but I believe that's where soft power comes in. One would be right to say it's all somewhat arbitrary but legitimacy in markets is formed by perception, and those who control the soft power largely control perception. In order for a parallel BRICS system to be viable competition to a global system denominated in USD I would say they probably have to combine forces and make a single currency but we don't see this coming to fruition because it implies that all of the countries in BRICS put a fuck-ton of trust into what.. Brazil? Russia? India? China? One of those countries' central banks is going to have to be the point of consolidation for all countries in the alliance and this is something that would sound horrifying to me if I was a member nation frankly.

Both...Swahili too, and can read Hebrew. My Somali is informal though, as in, if I get on camera and speak it, they will know I'm a boq...but if I get on camera and speak Arabic, they would know Im trained in "fusha" Arabic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Standard_Arabic (what you hear on Al-Jazeera etc) but for casual speaking I guess I have a Hejazi accent.
