So every year every country that can afford it submits a song. It has to be brand new. There are 2 rounds of elimination. Both the public and a jury get a vote. It's actually quite exciting if you like music.

I should add. Rock, rap and industrial entries have been getting more speed lately. It's not all pop.

The reason I always pick Finland is they're always unconventional. And always in a different way.

Dady Fryer from Iceland has been the only performer who has been allowed to apply two years in a row because the contest was cancelled for COVID. But he was quirky.

The scary thing is the US is eligible. But would ruin it.

The US tried to do Eurovision but with the states. It didn't work.
