His lack of talent really shows when he steps out of Sci fi and specifically his military spaceshit. See, it's hard to overstate how much work had already been done for you and how much leeway you have. You can just Google up what a energy weapon might sound, smell, look and feel like. You can read innumerable other people's descriptions of space, military procedures, foliage, food, whatever and then you just get to bullshit the rest. You just sound convincing by looking shit up and the rewording the descriptions ad nauseum. Get retarded in describing gear, weapons and procedures and now you're milspec! Who cares if it's wrong? Or made up? In this world things are a little different! It's scifi.
When you have to describe actual people, things people might really do or see, have visited, touched, tasted or smelled, you get dicey for a hack. Now you can't handwave it as Well, the bricks on the road made the sounds I said because it's alien rock not London cobblestone! Inauthentic description will ruin it. So now you have to rely more on your narrative instead of the ooh and aah of scifi. And this fucker couldn't write a narrative if his fat life depended on it. It's taken him 3 years to plagiarize Dickens. Badly I might add.
Realistic is always harder than fantastic.

Never laughed so hard at a book in my life until I read this. Can't wait to re-read it this Christmas. Truly a crime they took this off Amazon.

I know I made 3 posts in a row but I had to comment on this one because like you said, it's super easy to come up with sci fi vs real world scenarios like you pointed out. He pretty much played Mass Effect like every other 'stealthygeek' of the worlds who grew up with an Xbox and wrote his take on that (a way shittier take I might add). This Christmas Carnage is way out of his comfort zone, so you have to add that on top of his already awful writing style and what you get is the mess he's been releasing piece by piece since no publisher will ever pay him for this trash. The only reason he's pushing so hard is because so many of his followers and us on OnAforrems have said its an awful idea and he has to prove the idiots wrong as usual.
I need to go back and find it but when he released his first draft that was shown on the last page, someone gave it one hell of a critique that really shattered my ribs because it was ruthless and very mean but it was spot on. It went through line by line of what made it so awful. If someone can find it please repost it. I'll try and find it but the search feature here is awful and the only way I find stuff is by searching pages and pages of my own comment history.
Either way I doubt this book will ever see the light of day. I think realistically the only book he ends up releasing at some point would have to do with the stlakers. It's going to be chock full of lies and it will most likely be the final chapter of the Patrick Saga and will end up with us suing him. I can't wait to see what happens nexttttt.

The stlaker book is honestly the best way to make a potential seller. Unfortunately it'll be full of libel. He would need a lawyer to read over it, and no publisher would want to buy.
