Crime is a very interesting subject in general and I think "normies" get a vicarious thrill out of reading about people who live outside of the law. For some reason it became a favorite subject for women. My guess is most of them are (usually fat) cubicle dwellers that "date" wimpy redditor types and they fantasize about being with someone who is so far outside of the cookie cutter spectrum that they're willing to flagrantly violate the law and cut hookers' heads off and shit like that.

Nobody wants to date someone on the spectrum.

They do it because these are real people with real stories to share, and gives it air of rawness (or realness) that you won't find in any other genre of TV (e.g. comedy, or drama).

I forget what the show was called but it's about the woman who strapped a bomb to a pizza guy and had him rob a bank or something. I so badly wanted her to succeed. It's such a good crime.
