Thoughts on true crime.

This is more a comment on documentaries in general, not just true crime ones, but I can't stand how all the docs start out with the guests sitting down and getting ready to talk/getting mic'ed up. "What camera do I look into?" I'm not really sure what the producers are trying to accomplish with these shots, but it's in every fucking documentary.

To prove that what you're about to see is, above all, real. Real people, real excitement.

I'll admit that The Zodiac case peaks my interest every now and then. I mean, what a character! So many creeps in the Bay Area even then that are possible suspects. Of course a media Jew, seeking fame, had to muddle things up for everyone. Also, it's all somewhat close to home for me (CA Central Valley).

I sometimes get frustrated at those predator catch videos where all the idiot would have to do is drive away instead of confessing to some stranger. Even if they’re pedos who should die, I can’t abide Cumia/Tomlinson stupidity.

They do it because these are real people with real stories to share, and gives it air of rawness (or realness) that you won't find in any other genre of TV (e.g. comedy, or drama).

Crime is a very interesting subject in general and I think "normies" get a vicarious thrill out of reading about people who live outside of the law. For some reason it became a favorite subject for women. My guess is most of them are (usually fat) cubicle dwellers that "date" wimpy redditor types and they fantasize about being with someone who is so far outside of the cookie cutter spectrum that they're willing to flagrantly violate the law and cut hookers' heads off and shit like that. Not that they actually want that, but men have been so feminized and neutered, and the women are so numbed by birth control and antidepressants that they need a shock to their system to even get the needle moving.
