Thanks Anth!A good source for some more creepy SFWA and scifi-con stories is Chris Offutt's "My Father, the Pornographer". His father, Andrew Offutt, in addition to being a science fiction/fantasy writer and SFWA president, was also a prolific smut author who wrote close to 400 fapbooks mostly involving sadism and bondage. The book has longish sections where Chris describes going to SFWA cons and being around some of these fucking lunatics.
In one part of the book, he writes about going to a con with his father and fucking the daughter of another scifi writer that was speaking there. After they're done, she says to him, "You're actually better than guys three times your age." He was fifteen at the time.
It's a good read.
Piers' website says he was:I don't know if he's currently a member, but renowned Piers Anthony is a multiple times winner of the Nebula Award, indicating that he has at the very least been a member.
SCIENCE FICTION WRITERS OF AMERICA -- SFWA - www.sfwa.org. I am not a member of this organization, having quit it in disgust over thirty years ago when its officers sided with a wrongdoing publisher instead of the injured writer, me, and I got blacklisted for being right.
And the sickos at the SFWA want to free this guy?!
Are you the esteemed Mr. Munoz?Ed Kramer legitimately deserves to die, but according to Fat Pat and Cat Rambo he’s a saint and I deserve prison for criticizing an objectively untalented “author and pundit”.
Ah, the Pete Townsend defense.According to Bright, when he started to suspect that the mother he was talking to was a real mother offering sex with real children, he decided to collect evidence for law enforcement, which is why he’d been recording his conversation with the undercover agent at the time of his arrest. After his arrest, Bright waived his Miranda rights and tried to explain the mixup to the FBI agents.

Ah, the Pete Townsend defense.
There is a documentary on the sting that Townsend was involved in. I'm pretty sure it's still on YouTube. What a fucked up system but it's a good eye opener.Right. “It was for research, Judgy Wudgy”
